Newcastle are watching Taye Taiwo's situation at AC Milan with a view to making a loan move in January.

The Nigerian only moved to Milan in the summer on a free from Marseille but he has struggled at the San Siro.

Taiwo has featured in just two Serie A matches this season for his new club and is said to be unsettled in Italy.

Alan Pardew is monitoring developments and sources in Italy claim the Newcastle manager could make a loan move for left-back Taiwo, 26, in the New Year.

Taken from talkSPORT so its probably bollocks, I dont know much about the player - other than he used to play for Marseille.

Apparently he's been totally **** at Milan, but he's got talent. The kind of player we get these days, ones that are clearly gifted but have struggled in recent times ie Ben Arfa, Santon, Obertan and now him. Wouldn't surprise me this one.

Getting linked with a lot of left backs, would seem Pardew now sees Santon as a right back.

Tbh it was to good an oppurtunity to miss out on a potentially world class full back for less than 6 mil.

This is the guy a lot of us hoped for over the summer, loan move with an agreed transfer fee would be very nice.

He's a great player, we nearly got him in the summer but AC got there first. Can play CB as well I think.

He hasnt had a proper chance at Milan, but they didnt spend anything on him so they wont be too bothered about cutting their losses. Can see it happening if his wages are reasonable.

If Milan got him free I can see them selling him off on the cheap especially if he isn't getting in the team. Probably just speculation but at least this one's vaguely believable.

Zambrotta and Antonini are currently keeping him out of the side so I think they'll definitely be open to letting him go.

Either him or Pardew said this during the transfer window. There is no value in loans was the consensus, think it may have been owl face when he did that radio interview actually.

Now you mention it I do vaguely recall that. They would probably accept a Ben Arfa style loan though, if we had an intent to buy clause.

Agreed. I think the original statement was in regard to loans from other premier league teams where the player would never sign in the end. I think Pieters is more likely due to the fact he can play CB as well.

I think that website is just reporting a story that was on an Italian football website a few days ago.
