For me, tonight has got rid of a lot of frustration over the past four seasons(plus this one). All now comes down to one game. Wycombe were shocking over the two games and the game plan seemed to be to stop football being played, this will not be the case with Orient. The Play-Off final is a one off game where anything can happen, Orient have not been in the 2nd division since 1982 and will have nothing to lose. Will it be third time unlucky for us? This game is a lottery.
I make Orient favourites right now. If they defeat us, I won't hold it against them. They're a proper football Club. If things had panned out differently this season and we were facing Wrexham or Birmingham at Wembley I would have nothing but contempt. But I have respect for Orient.
I keep telling anyone that listens that it was always likely to be cafc v o’s final. I’m confident of a win the dog agrees with me too.
We will have the apprehension that Orient will not have. Heart says Charlton, head says a flip of the coin.
I have a lot of respect for Orient and the majority of football fans will want them to win. We are gonna be favourites, rather than a lottery it’s all about holding your nerve and I think Jones is the better manager
Whatever happens, Jones at this level is a fantastic manager. He may be marmite but the little Ivor has passion and cares. I would like to think that whatever division we are in come August he will be backed and prove his worth to us, be it promotion from division 3 or staying up in division 2. Either way we need to stick with him.
Side note. I gave my ticket to my lad tonite and ordered a curry to watch it on the telly. Sky went down and missed the 2nd half.
TV companies screw fans on so many levels. You can't even rely on them to give the basic service you pay through the nose for. I couldn't believe the timing this evening when my Sky packed up as well.
In the good old days of a well run club, we produced embroidered play-off Wembley polo shirts. It will be interesting to see what s*** we churn out and at what price. Bound to be a f*** up. As for the selling of tickets.....................
I lost my temper a bit. Did the switch on and off, then asked the wife if she had sat on the remote control. Then checked the connection. Then decided it was the wife recording deal or no deal endlessly. Checked the remote batteries. Then had a korma and then listened to some northern chap on utube with 17 other listeners comment on the game Amd he only knew the name of 3 players.
Unfortunately I will be in Spain with all my family... However, it is on my Birthday as was the 1998 Sunderland play off final, so much as I would like to be there we will hopefully be watching in a bar in Spain.
We're in the same end as we were for both previous play-off finals, I reckon it'll be third time unlucky. I am a one for runs having to come to an end, no other logic than that.
