Valuing entertainment over stability is why this childlike moron should not be running a football club. It’s not his tinpot media company that got a leg up because his dictator mate suppressed his competitors. It’s a football club with over 100 years of heritage and tens of thousands of supporters.
If anyone had any doubt what kind of owner Acun is, he's just made it crystal clear. He would have read that the vast majority of fans, players and media thought Selles deserved to keep his job, but clearly doesn't care about what we think. The guy is a joke. All of his previous managerial appointments were poor for me. The only manager that's done what was asked of him was Selles and he's just been sacked.
I'm not going to get into a bun fight with you Kalman,... but how many times have you left this season home or away and under Walter and then Selles and thought. 'we are ****'..
Several times but that’s football. It’s fresh in the mind after 90 minutes of frustration. I’ve seen Burnley supporters complain about Parker’s football after some games this season. Entertainment is often a good side effect of a stable football club, not the other way around.
If this is true and he hasn't recruited a replacement,I can't see us bringing in anyone of note, who would risk their reputation knowing one wrong move would lead to a P45? We've fast become a poison chalice and a laughing stock in the Championship...This Clown's ego will destroy this Club,he's halfway there already!!
In what regard though? He's already pulled the trigger on another manager that should have been given longer. We're signing Puerta to sell him instantly. Nothing confirmed yet but right now all signs point to another manager sacking and too many summer signings of quantity over quality... It's not a good model unless we get lucky and they all hit the ground running. We need to start giving things time and aiming for stability. We currently make very naive looking decisions seemingly on various whims.
Woken up seen the news. Already seen twitter accounts with Turkey flags on justifying it. if I was a sceptical man I’d say he’s paying botanic people to spout his stuff for him now. Already seen a few accounts posting the same tripe as each other in justification
Selles froze in the second half against Derby, that was the decisive moment for him, if he'd changed the game with earlier subs and won or drawn he'd have stayed. Home form has to improve.
It's like he just wants to stay relevant during the off season. **** off Acun I'd rather enjoy my other hobbies than worry about what you're doing to my club thanks.
If we had gone all out attack we would have been relegated with the players we had available! Joke of a decision. No one will touch us!
In fairness, I’m sure many on here are the same people who weren’t too bothered when Rosenior got sacked and they understood the reasons. Only in hindsight are the saying how much of an awful decision it was. I’d have stuck with Ruben for stability but I also don’t think his dismissal is really that shocking. We’ve been awful for weeks, and stayed up on goal difference when we really shouldn’t have been in that predicament. I didn’t see anything to suggest Ruben getting us mid-table mediocrity at best and it looks like Acun wants to roll the dice with someone he believes can get us challenging - risky yeah but if he gets the appointment right (big if), it makes sense
This is, on paper, not as poor a decision as the one a year ago but it's poor nonetheless, although if you apply the following logic then you could argue it's worse: The club tasked the manager with getting a playoff place - he didn't so was sacked. The club tasked the manager with avoiding relegation - he did so was sacked. However the two factors which render it a particularly stupid decision for me are the injuries/ban; a couple of months into next season Selles would have been blending in 3 or 4 returning quality players into his established and improving set up and the fact that the recruitment team completely hamstrung him with the incompetent failure of not signing a proper striker. Rosenior had to play a false nine (luckily he had the quality to do it) as we had no striker in the building, Selles had to chop and change, cut his cloth accordingly upfront and eventually go ultra defensive (which for better or worse was successful in keeping us in the Championship) because the strikers he was given weren't good enough. I can't say Selles was my favourite ever City manager but he's been hard done to; he didn't deserve to lose his job for doing what he'd been asked to do when he was appointed.
