Sissoko has retired . I know he wasn’t a fan favourite but did score some key goals . Sorry seems to be fake so ignore !
Watford U-18s won 2-1 at Burnley to reach the U-18 Play-Off Final. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...y-sees-watford-reach-under-18-play-off-final/
This article raises plenty of things to ponder on. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25152979.watford-follow-cleverley-axe-restructure-job-cuts/
Has Robbo gone ? Will people be as outraged for the sacking of a guy who came through the ranks to play in 2 promotion teams as there is for the “legend” Cleverley going .. Or does that not matter as he wasn’t the manager .
I was disappointed by the dismissal of Cleverley, who - in my opinion - was set up to fail. Watford spent less on transfers than any other club in the Championship during the past season, despite making the third largest profit (after Leeds and Burnley) from transfer dealing. I shall not be surprised if Luis Garcia Plaza is announced as the new head coach on Monday, although I have no inside knowledge. I may be mistaken, but I shall explain my reasoning if I am correct.
A couple of crackers see us through to the PDL final, U18 PDL Play-Off Final Friday May 16 1pm at Ashton Gate. Hopefully it'll be on YouTube.
I was mistaken, but I shall explain my reasoning. I read that reports on social media were claiming that Watford's new head coach had easily obtained his work permit last Thursday and there were some suggestions that he would be announced on Monday. I looked at the leading candidates in the betting odds and I thought that Pacheta and Diego Alonso would not be able to obtain a work permit. Will Still is only 32 years old and is relatively inexperienced. His teams may play attractive football, but he has yet to achieve anything. That left only Garcia Pimienta and Luis Garcia Plaza. Most of Garcia Pimienta's career has been spent in youth football, he has only limited experience as head coach of a first team and he has never worked outside Spain. Gino Pozzo wants an experienced head coach so that left just Luis Garcia Plaza, who has achieved promotion at three different 'segunda liga' clubs and in 2023-24 he comfortably kept Alaves in La Liga, He has also worked in China and Saudi Arabia. I did not consider Paulo Pezzolano (the new Watford head coach) because he was not listed in the betting odds at that point in time.
Yes. Read the 'New Manager?' thread. His appointment is confirmed by Andrew French in the Watford Observer..
Robbo and Jimmy Gilligan have left . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25160948.two-former-watford-players-leave-roles-club/
