How many players do Real plan to play in midfield. Are they going to play 2-6-2 formation?

There is no right or wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Heard someone say something earlier which makes sense.

Trent and most footballers went the best of both worlds.

He wants all the adulation of the lfc fans while also getting all the benefits of moving to Madrid and everything that comes with it. It’s very rare that players can get both and have to accept that he has upset a group of people

No, you're spot on. I've said since Sunday night that I think it's shocking to boo a Liverpool player wearing the shirt at the game. Shocking.

I predicted this last year when this all started. I'm not surprised that no ody i. The media understands lfc fans, especially those to go to games and boo thr national anthem.

Lfc fans are the same folk who will break covid rules to let off fireworks all game.

The same folk who will mob the streets to welcome bus and put a half million or more out to celebrate a league and fa cup after losing the cl final.

The same folk who will have a million out on thr 26th.

The same passionate, stubborn, bloody minded people who see a local player as one of them even though he never did.

Trent has been badly advised in this. He said he wouldn't comment but he has, whether fsg forced it I don't know iw but it's coincidence thst trent is pictured with Henry on the pitch and words exchanged and lip read.

He was better off saying nothing until everything was done but he was much better off apologising for going thst talking about himself and what's best for him after having said it was his dream to captain the club.

I hope the fans don't double down but as I said if you tell them they are wrong they are far more likely to go further than not.

I am sure a lot of people simply neither applauded not booed but feel he's let them down.

The booers were supposedly not in the kop end but around the ground so I doubt he will be get any better a reception v palace.

However there's a trophy to lift and you've made your point comes to.mind.

There could well be a lot of tickets sold on for that one (would pay for next year's season ticket tbh) I'd expect people who buy tickets at that cost to either not care or be even worse idiots.

So we will see i suppose.

The away fans are sometimes the ones I look to see what the real feelings are. We will see

That would definitely be the most appropriate response imo.

I say this all the time. There's definitely a different feeling among our fans at the games. I always applaud the travelling fans. I think those who are spending, let's face it, hundreds of pounds, to follow the team shouldn't be being told how to respond to a player. It's very rare fans feel they've been let down and while I'd rather they sang The Scouser in the Team and changed it to Curtis Jones, some have decided to respond in a different way. I wouldn't boo, I don't get why people do in any circumstances but I'm no longer a paying fan and don't feel like I should be telling those who are how to feel. I remember what it was like without those fans in the ground and how we were all saying, football without fans is nothing.

Travelling fans usually represent the "true" fan and local support. Thry are also however going to be more male, more white and more young as well. Not all just more.

We have local fans, day trippers, travelling regulars and tourists in the ground.

A lot of people are dismissive of day trippers like as if they are all tourists.

Some people travel a long way to attend anfield regularly, some walk to the ground, some ensure 60mins of traffic after a game.

But they all share one thing in common.

When there's talk of family club and all that you can't quite square it with the corporate scalping and costs to fans but then you see things like the Owen mcviegh banner or the little lad klopp adopted or the lad Jones adopted and you cant help but think that despite all the greed there is one thing said about lfc thst is still true.

    They made the people happy.

Trent imo has forgotten that one is search of personal glory

Liverpool fans are held to a different standard, by the media in particular but also by our own fans.

Can't say I understand that myself, tbh.
I'm born and bred Scouse - I also think of myself as English, British, European etc, etc. I don't see myself as fundamentally different to others because of my birthplace or background.
I'd much rather people saw us all as one than all this divisiveness.
Not mad keen on singing the National Anthem, but that's for the same reasons I've outlined above.

Said last week before the Arse game that he should have done a Mane and kept his mouth shut until after the parade. I expect Madrid as much as FSG were keen to get him to publicly burn his bridges with Liverpool, and that's to do with this monstrous FIFA club jamboree in the US this summer.

Well, the team is out in Dubai enjoying a well-earned party, but there doesn't appear to be any Trent with them. That is sad if true because Trent has earned the presentation, the parade, and this holiday as much as anybody, but perhaps he's under orders from Real (effectively his bosses now) to not overindulge with this 'tournament' coming up. What utter ****housery.

All this said though, has the national (and even international) media ever focussed so much on a player being booed by their own fans? We won the league with a month to spare, and May was always going to be one long party culminating with a million+ parade at the end of it - they just weren't going to allow us to enjoy that narrative, were they? The rogue's gallery of former players, pundits, and sports journos venting their hypocritical dogshit about how this booing is the worst booing ever, ever, ever in world history is vomit-inducing. Now to add to that, we even have fans from other clubs who've made booing current and former players into a practised art form feeding off it all to hide their fume about us romping the league. I mean, really - Southampton fans taking a moral high horse on booing your own players? Everton fans? ****ING ARSENAL FANS! :emoticon-0119-puke:

Yeah, 100% agree. I never sing THAT anthem, but I observed the silences for QE2, as did the crowd at Anfield apart from two ****ers, and now apparently we all abused it even though the same thing happened at Everton, Forest, Spurs, and City games and nobody said **** all.
