He also dropped off in his last season with Liverpool due to said injuries, he was no longer said 'proven' striker.

Andy Carroll, like Benteke after him, was the wrong type of striker for Liverpool. Much as, I suspect, Gyokores would be the wrong type of striker for Arsenal. That doesn't mean Gyokores isn't a proven striker who going into a team building their side around the striker wouldn't continue to score goals. I would hope regardless of who we bring in we would be setting the side up to get the most out of the striker.

Out of interest, why do you think Gyökeres would be the wrong type of striker for Arsenal? Gyökeres obviously isn’t as good as Haaland but I think he’s a more ‘complete’ striker. He drifts wide, drops deep, is strong, quick, good finisher etc.

I think he’d suit Arteta’s style a lot more than a poacher or target man.

Baz reporting Pedro will most likely leave and not have his optional year activated.

Maybe Gyokores has evolved a bit at Sporting then, he didn't seem to be that type of striker at Cov and Arsenal are set up so much with wingers who cut inside and shoot. Someone like Jesus (if he stayed fit) is kind of perfect for Arsenal as a result.

....On a jet plane....Don't know if he'll be back again...
In that case I guess we're bringing in Peter, Paul and Mary..

I'm not at all surprised that Pedro is leaving. Even if he wanted to stay, I think he'll be on a decent wage and he's an obvious one to let go if we're wanting to cut costs as well as bringing in other attackers.

    God willing?

Isn't he a central midfielder? Unless he's replacing Alzate I can't see why we need him.

I’m 99.9% sure Alzate is going.

We don’t have that many midfielders who actually have a future here. Simons and Mehlem both have buy-options in their loans, Alzate is going, Palmer will probably go and Puerta is 50/50. That leaves us with Slater, Crooks and maybe Puerta for the start of pre-season.

If we can sell Alzate for a couple of million and reinvest that in a striker then I don't see an issue with that

I'd be shocked if we get more than 2-3m for Alzate. Some were suggesting we would get 6m+ which I think is quite optimistic.

I wouldnt be too bothered to see Alzate leave if he's the only midfielder to go. What I dont want to see is a complete change in midfield where we see Alzate, Puerta, Palmer and Zambrano all move on. We need some stability and familiarity for a change.

On Monday, Foot Mercato stated Hull City are in advanced talks to sign FUS Rabat’s Reda Laalaoui in the summer window.

Le 360 Sport state the 20-year-old will move to England where the Tigers are in pole position.

A source close to this operation has told Le 360 that Hull City have been in ongoing talks with FUS Rabat. The parties involved haven’t signed anything yet, but the deal is at an advanced stage.

Africa Foot also cover the Championship club’s interest in the player. Three weeks ago, they reported FUS Rabat had rejected a €250,000 offer from the Tigers, and requested the fee be doubled.

A source close to FUS Rabat has told Africa Foot they’ve agreed to sell Laalaoui to Hull City: ‘FUS Rabat has agreed to sell Reda Laalaoui’s contract for €250,000, but the player’s sales agreement includes a clause that will allow us to benefit from 40% if the player is sold to a new team within the next four years.’

40% sell on clause? wtf are we doing...

even if we only got 2m, that'd be amazing business for someone signed on a free 8 months ago, lots of cm options out there available as well as already at the club

Exactly! No owner would think its a good idea to pay 250k + a 40% sell on when you could just pay 500k.
