'A planning application has been submitted to Sunderland City Council for the erection of a small broadcast hub building at the Sunderland Association Football Club Stadium of Light.'

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:

    Location:
The proposed broadcast hub building is intended for the Sunderland Association Football Club Stadium of Light, specifically at Stadium Park, Vaux Brewery Way, Sunderland SR5 1YN.
      • Decision Timeline:
The council typically provides a decision within 8 weeks for minor planning applications. However, large or complex applications may take longer, up to 13 or 16 weeks.
      • Application Process:
Applicants are encouraged to seek pre-application advice to ensure their application is valid and meets all requirements. They can also employ a plan drawer or architect to assist with the application process.
      • Viewing and Commenting:
Sunderland City Council provides a platform called "Planning Online" where members of the public can view applications and submit comments.
      • Other Planning Applications:
The council's "Planning Alerts" page on Planning Alerts | UK lists other current planning applications in the area, including various other proposals in Sunderland

If we get to the play off final will there be a fans zone ? would be great rather than watching it at home.

Our city has been seen as a sh*thole for years. Looked down upon. Where most city's have to be retro fitted because everything is already there.... we are just getting everything brand spanking new. I drive around the place and I hardly recognise the place, and for the better. Development everywhere you look for a better future for the place. People slate places like Hendon, the birthplace of SAFC, blue signs everywhere because of the history down there. The port, 5 minutes from the town centre which is undergoing huge development thus close metro links, 15 minute walk to the football stadium, cinema.Hendon shoud be a prime place to live, but because of reputation is isn't. I don't recognised Sunderland lately and it's fantastic. State of the art eye infirmary, film studio getting built, A.I based up here. Now plans for a TV studios?Futures Oragne.

Got to agree. The Sunderland I left in 1984 is definitely not the Sunderland that I last visited in 2023. There’s still a lot to do I think but there is a regeneration going on in the city that is a pleasure to see.
