I originally posted this as a reply to a Cest thread re Noble, Worth a fresh thread I think.

MoN was at the MAN U game last night and saw him in full flow in extremely difficult conditions. As you have said, he made it look easy, being in the right position. ManU reserves would hold ther own in the prem, so a very significant result last night.
MoN stayed for almost the full game in freezing conditions. Casting an eye over the mid field also.

It sounds as if Gardner, Meyler and McLean played well too! With players injured and suspended it could be a very interesting selection.

He said the first job will be to frustrate and stop them playing...Dunn needs to be stopped....who would you give the job to Meyler? Did he look fit enough?...we need a tiger in midfield.....

It is going to be extremely interesting to see the team on Sunday. MON saw the first 11 on Sunday vs Wolves, it looks to me like he had a look at the rest of the squad in the res game. He has seen them all play and train now, I would expect some surprises Sunday.

For me Meyler and Gardener need to be the midfield 2

I've not seen much of Gardner, but for me, Meyler is the best midfield player at the club. Had it not been for his injuries he would be first name on the team sheet, he'll come good and will flourish under MON's management.

I agree that Meyler is our best midfielder, he needs to be back in the first team asap. Along with Vaughan, I think that should be our first choice pairing.

Mag in peace - My lass used was his form teacher a few years back and he is meant to be very promising.
Also he has a younger brother who is meant to be an excellent prospect too. Not too sure but I think he's at Sunderland also.

Hope that he gives McClean a run out as well. IMO we have some good young lads who deserve a chance and hope that MON will give them a fair crack.
