Schumacher drove a 220mph F1 car with g-forces of up to 5-6, these are what fighter pilots experience, and at his age I think it is an achievment against the young guns. I have nothing against Fangio, stop using the legend as a shield to protect your love for Alonso.
Title is misleading, not exactly a "Fact" - just an accusation. If there was any truth in the story we would have heard about this in 2007 - and it would have come from Ron Dennis, not Tom Bowers.
Jim Clark (British F1 Driver) drove less than half the races that Alonso has and Clark won 35% of them. Alonso has won 16% of his He had more pole positions than Alonso He had more fastest laps than Alonso He raced and won in other formats at the same time as competing in F1 Is he not as good then?
IMO Jim Clark is the best British F1 driver, and much better then Alonso. The lad got 8 Grand Chelems, thats impressive!
And Schumacher the cheat, who got exposed at Monaco for his pathetic behaviour? lol! The way he stole Rubens win at Austria was a disgrace. He was driving a car 2 x more powerful than the Brawn and RB. If he had a normal car like today he wont have 80% of his wins. He was a lucky guy not even in the top 10 all time. ALonso destroyed him twice despite Bernie and FIA trying to stop him.
you keep saying Lewis, I am sure the mods can check my IP - you really are daft. I didnt even know who this lewis guy was until I checked past posts.
If there isn't any truth in it then the author can be had for slander so I'd have thought there must be some truth in it. Honestly though would anybody be surprised if it is 100% accurate?
Everybody knows Alonso wasn't happy with McLaren in 2007, whether it's true or not who knows, seems like muck-raking to me though. I'd say the same if they'd written the same allegations about Hamilton, Schumacher or whoever.
True, the Sun is the first to come up with bull, but i'm sticking with my opinions about Alonso, I don't want to argue with people that support him because you have to think "what would you feel if somebody said that about MSC", so lets just keep it in the boudaries od debating.
Nice to see the merged threads here seem to work well together. As for Alonso, he's taken over the pantomime villain job from Schumi for the British media since 2007.
I think an increase in people that use to hate Schum's guts have turned to adore him for having the balls to think "**** it i'm coming back" at his age, quite a lot of people have said, "Even though I hate him, I want to see him on the podium again", I think it's just human nature or "British nature" to see the underdog triumph..
Your right Manny. When Minardi and Super Aguri was in F1, every British fan (don't really know about other countries) was secretly a fan of theirs. They really shouldn't have been in, for financial reasons, but fans of the sport kept them in because we cheered for them, even when they finished 10th when only 2 or 3 drivers retired. I think I remember hearing that Super Aguri were actually encouraged by the other teams into F1 in 2006
Maybe the BBC will stop taking the piss out of MSC and stop exaggerating any move Michael makes, oh I forgot.... Coulthard is in the commentary box know.
Can't please everybody! There were too many Alonso threads so I put them together, also I deleted half a dozen Alonso threads yesterday, and if you take the time to scroll through the thread the other thread headings are clearly visible. I'd suggest that this is a better solution than to delete two or three of the threads. I put an explanation on the moderation thread, if anybody wants to ask any questions please P.M. me instead of asking things on the topic threads themselves. Cheers!
Brundle doesn't like Schumi much either, it's a shame the BBC doesn't have any analysts from overseas to give the coverage a better balance.
Either this book is lying in which case Alonso sues the publisher, or Alonso says nothing, just like with the Piquet crashgate And we all finally accept what we all suspected That he is the lowest of the low, needing a rookie sabotaged to be able to beat him Bye bye Alonso!
