I don't know what Universal Credit is, some sort of "top-up" for those on a low income I presume. But that text just talks about taking benefits away from people who can work who refuse to accept a job offer. Surely all of us agree with that?
“Universal Credit is replacing the following benefits: Housing Benefit Income Support income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)”
To be fair that John O'Connell is one of their leading bullshitters. He's on X every day twisting facts into nonsense. We must all do due diligence before reposting X posts on here. Like what I do.
What dopey missed is that the measure is combined with a raising of the personal tax threshold, meaning people would be better of than they would have been if they no longer qualify for Universal Credit. He doesn't half fall for the bullshit.
Apparently we are now fetching them from French water: https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/2048887/Migrants-France-UK-asylum-boats-dinghies
I've always been for people working. Everyone needs to chip in. Not everyone on here that agrees with Reform does though.
