I cant even bring myself to watch that. Whos he trying to kid. Weve lost the last 5 games, the last 2 against 2 of the worst teams in the league and i can count on one hand how many chances we created in both games. We went to Portugal this week to supposedly prepare for the playoffs and start taking things more seriously but yet again weve all been let down again today and made to look bad against inferior opposition
2 PPG when Mundle starts, 1.44 when he doesn't. 2 PPG would've seen us finish 3rd and automatically promoted in the majority of seasons, 1.44 PPG would've seen us finish 7th/8th.
Well just back. My confidence draining and let's be honest made worse by the Coventry news I try to be positive but just can't see where the goals are coming. I did think at times there were signs of those little intricate triangles but sadly the final ball often lacking. No-one is gambling in the box. Positives Cirkin and Ballard My clinging hope - losing streaks do come to and end. Perhaps the playoffs will break the mode. (At the moment I fear not)
I may be off by a few but by my reckoning 53 wingers or players who have played a decent chunk of minutes in wide areas in the championship scored more goals than Patrick Roberts this season.
Yes Dan Ballard (12 starts) has scored the same amount and more non-penalty goals than our only right winger.
Yes, same amount as Ballard, Neil and Watson. Less than Hume, O'Nien, Cirkin, Jobe, Rigg, Mundle, Mayenda and Isidor. Same amount of non penalty goals as Clarke who played 2 games.
5 defeats on the spin is not the form or momentum a side would pick going into the play-offs. I’m not sure you beat Cov over 2 legs right now… I’d have much rather faced you, than Sheff Utd.
2 weeks ago I’d have agreed, but like you, we seem to have run out of steam. We had a small squad to start with,
Why did we swap Neil and Jobe today? That's confused me and I don't see the benefit of it. It wasn't great today, but the play offs are here now and it's time to **** or get off the pot.
RLB has to start earning his coin, players need motivation and watching him just stand there today ( on the telly ) he just looks lost. I’m normally at the match and don’t really pay much attention to the manager but today the camera panned to him several times and he just looks devoid of ideas. I’m ever the optimist but I’m starting to think we are a busted flush. Goals have dried up and that zip and intensity has been missing for months, we simply have to improve massively for Coventry because if we lose down there by 2 or 3 we just don’t have the goals in us to claw it back
Personally I think the last 5 games have gone perfectly. Players rested, fringe players getting minutes, however what an absolute master stroke by RLB. We can look at Coventry, Bristol City and Sheff Utd and work out where their strengths are, how they will set up and set our team up in respect of that. Coventry will look at us and think we will be lacklustre, no effort, frightened to tackle , scared to shoot and terrified of any high ball into our box. How wrong the are going to be, they will be exactly what we think they are going to be. We will turn it on when it's needed. RLB master strke KTF
