Mathematically safe!!!! On a lilo, in a sea of alright. I'm a mongrel an' I just won a dogfight. Select your top three, in order.
Puerta. Fantastic 1st half held the ball and tackled well. Full of fight Hughes. Put body in way a few times to block & win the ball Egan. Needed his experience at the back 2nd half Wow tough game to get through watching with so much at stake. Helped with us starting so well. Also so nervous though with Macca’s the early 13th minute booking 2nd half started so negatively, totally lost the game again but hung on. Thank god WBA were up for it today. Can’t see any sense of survival celebrations tonight, but tomorrow inquest on season begins
1. Puerta - Magic in midfield today, looked like he was constantly trying to get something going. 2. Crooks - Goal, really showed he’s a troublemaker, which is what we needed all season, don’t think he’s the answer for the future, but we’ll see after the pre season. 3. Pandur - Player of the season & did enough to save us today, although he shouldn’t have been beaten today from that angle.
Egan Coyle Hughes Fans were magnificent, could hear them before the kick-off, constantly throughout the match until the final whistle - brilliant display!
Coyle Egan Hughes. ... Well done everyone. No negatives tonight. UTT and roll on next season. Now off for a few beers.
Once again strange tactics and substitutions by Selles. Luckily it hasn't cost us. Egan - A wise old head when we've needed it, our most important signing of the January transfer window. Puerta - Can't quite make my mind up about him but thought he had a very good game today. Coyle - Did well against pompeys danger man.
Puerta Egan Crooks A few others could have been top 3 We survived, all that matters today Somebody else start a post mortem thread, today just breathe and sigh / smile of relief
Puerta repaid a huge part of his fee today. Egan whilst some around him might have been losing their heads he didnt. Crooks, he does make scoring look easy...
Egan - by a country mile, put him alongside Hughes next season and you'll have a partnership akin to Turner and Brown. Puerta - ran his little legs off for the cause, thankfully Joseph- another who showed what commitment is all about. Massive shout out to the travelling fans, they got our lot over the line at the end there
Crooks - big shift Egan Puerta Not easy to make judgements after 90 minutes watching through the gaps in my fingers.
Yes to the first, but a huge ? to the second. Apart from dropping a cross and letting in a goal, what did he do to save us today?
