He played half a game and has not been heard of since. No one's reported he's injured or available or alive or anything. He's being airbrushed out of Hull City history, which is probably for the best until you consider how much he has cost us. What is his actual weekly wage?
Should his be called a wage? You earn a wage which he definitely hasn't. Maybe better to ask what his allowance he's on.
I saw the U21s on Tuesday and they had 4 trialists playing. All looked good. The quality of football was very good and players seemed happy to shoot when near the goal, which was a nice surprise. In Myers, I think they have a star in the making. Left footed right winger, but always looking to take on the defender as plan A. Can also take a great corner. He also looked genuinely pissed off when substituted with 5 minutes remaining.
I saw one of the goals that came from his corner and to be honest I thought it just highlighted the gap between that and senior level - it was that same low near post delivery we always do except it wasn't cleared.
Well I saw them today, also with 4 triallists, and it wasn't very good at all. Coyle started well, but faded from the game, Myers was very impressive in the first half, less so in the 2nd. Worth noting that the outstanding players from the Millwall U21 game a couple of years ago, much better than anyone playing today, were Jarvis and Callum Jones. Neither of them is going to be a second tier player. All in all it was very much a copy of the first team, plenty of possession in unthreatening areas, a failure to create much, and vulnerable to a quicker more direct bunch of attackers. Bit depressing, I'm sure tomorrow will cheer me up.
Hence my worry about people saying that academy players will be able to step up if we go down. They're nowhere near the quality required, not yet.

Not sure how tall Ekemini Umoren actually is, either he's actually mini or the others are just giants. Gomeniuk and Moore are supposed to be the standouts from that crop, but hopefully they all do well. The first year scholars from this year were pretty strong, so they've got their work cut out!
