I don’t watch GB news mate was just in the Telegraph, Trevor Phillips done a bit piece on it this morning.. as of yet nothing has been done, it’s just been delayed and watered down. So we’ll see if they’re serious or just talking ****e, again.

Been quite vocal about my displeasure for this Labour government but I have to admit, it seems there’s common ground amongst the governments regarding the amount of people claiming benefits in this country - and now all of these people who are staunch labour are turning on them as if it’s just because they fancy seeing people struggle. One thing that really pisses me off about this country and no doubt I’ll trigger some on here, is the blatantly lack of piss taking by the “working class” and its excused because we aren’t rich. I know several people fraudulently claiming benefits, people trying to force ADHD/Autism assessments for their kids for benefits, I also know of many more self employed who don’t declare their income properly. Of course there’s many disabled folk who need their benefits to survive that’s not the issue here. But how is this any different to the rich dodging tax? It’s all ****ing broken and it’s starting to piss me off that these people want to steal from the system all the same as the rich folk but because they don’t have as much they think it’s fine. Why should I pay 40% tax on part of my salary whilst a self employed tradesmen is declaring £15k a year and paying **** all whilst probably earning £60k+? I don’t agree with a lot of Labours policies but I think they’re right to look into ALL avenues of people taking the piss. And now people are taking the hump because the piss taking parties are hopefully coming to an end.
There's an episode of Yes Minister where Sir Humphrey is uncharacteristically indiscreet and is caught on microphone saying any Government could half the welfare bill if they wanted to, they just haven't got the guts. I'm hoping that we are finally turning the conversation in that direction (and I consider myself left of centre).
