Out of Europe and the Carling Cup, not looking too good for the Premiership title and could be out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle, which of their reserves would make a difference to City if SAF has a fire sale in January?

If they offload players in January because of being out of the cups it's going to be players we can't get anywhere near affording.

We usually have all 4 teams getting pretty far and normally a couple of them make the semis. This year we're relying on Arsenal :|

    ...and Chelsea

Man Utd will surely field the youngsters in the Europa and use their main squad to try and win the league. If anything this might negatively effect the ambitions of a club like ours in signing/loaning Man Utd reserves.

Well Man Utd have just lost Vidic for the season after the Basle game. They have Berbatov, Hernandez and Anderson out until sometime in January and who knows with Owen when he will show up again to play. Man Utd kids will not help the cause but SAF may well use them in the europa league to gain valuable experience. They wont have a fire sale yet as that will come next summer. But it may just hinder the chances of one or two of there better kids going out on loan. Macheda looked poor in Basle. Wonder if Barmby could get him going again ?

If Man United have injury problems with strikers then I doubt Macheda will be going anywhere. If we were to get anyone on loan from United then we'll be looking at some of the promising players from their youth set up who aren't likely to be called in for first team action.

try telling that to man utd fans. they blame Macheda fior missing a sitta when the score was 0 - 0. the look on Rooneys face also told its own story. i myself would like someone like Will Keane but i am sure NB will have had a word with WJ on who is available ?

Anderson is out for the season, but Berbatov is expected to be in the squad tomorrow and Owen is due back before Christmas.

Is Owen ahead of Macheda in the pecking order?

I'm sure he should be but Fergie might stick with him if he considers him to be the future

Actually Macheda missed the open goal just before tBasle went 2-0 up, but it was still a sitter. Bit harsh to blame a player for a miss only a couple of mins after he has come on.

Now Rooney's was a REAL miss. I could have put that in with my beer-gut!!

after the Basle game i would hate to think where SAF now has Macheda in the pecking order. But for sure Man Utd are running out of fit strikers at the moment.

yes your correct it would have been 1-1, my error. as for Rooney his mind was elsewhere and the miss beyond words. :emoticon-0120-doh:

thursdays in manchester are going to be quite lively from February 2012. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I think that all that this 'crisis' will do is make a certainty that SAF will not retire soon, unless ill health of personal stuff intervenes.

Macheda has contributed the square root of feck all to Man U and Sampdoria in the last 2 seasons, he had 2 good games a few years ago and that is it. Would be a waste of a squad number at City.

That's a bit harsh, he scored four goals in seventeen appearances for Man United in the Premier League and Sampdoria played him out of position and as a sub.
