We’ve been worrying about FFP all this time but I think the problem is much worse. Cash flow problems can result in defaulting on debts and administration. I’d rather the club had money, lost more than they were allowed to and take the points deduction on the chin than not having a pot to piss in.
A few posters missing atm. I guess they've gone to change their beds .... again. It's a good job it's good weather to hang the bed sheets out to dry otherwise I dread to think what their electric bills would be like. Players paid before the end of the month. Paid when they were informed they'd be paid..
Offload them to who though? Which of our permanent contracts are going to be picked up by other clubs and how do we replace them? Pandur, Hughes, Alzate, Kamara? Maybe. But you're asking a lot to replace them.
Yes, they were informed they would be paid late, they were paid late and the club had to scramble around to find the cash to pay them from "overseas".....keep burying your head if you really want.
Yes I agree if wages are late again it's indicative of cash flow issues which are worse than PSR issues, so for all the guff about selling players at a loss making us less competitive, frankly that doesn't matter if we need to do it to raise cash.
If we're in league one we replace them with academy graduates. Omur, Mehlem, racioppi, Giles, simons, alzate, Hughes, Pandur will all have interest and that's a decent start. For all people snigger about Giles, he has enough runs on the board someone will take a chance on him if we're offering him for cheap.
Please re read my post where I said if it happens again next month I agree it's a concern but as it stands it was a one off slightly late payment the players were fully informed about. I'm sure just like you I'm really not interested in a back and forth.
I know. I did. Leave out the name calling and just read my post properly in the first place. The end.
