According to the report, wages have to be paid by the end of the month. And have been. Define late? But not good.
Someone is 5hit stirring. This is a total non story. The players get paid at the end of the month, today is the end of the month and they have been paid..
The Athletic article mentions non-playing staff were paid on the 28th from the club’s account but the players’ wages were delayed because the money had to be transferred from an overseas account to City’s account and they had to wait for it to clear. I know Baz has said players were informed prior and that it’s not breach of contract so long as it’s paid before the end of the month but the bigger question is why are the players’ wages having to come from overseas sources in the first place? Why doesn’t the club have cash reserves for emergencies such as this? Is City’s liquidity that piss-poor?
Maybe it’s the 500k a week we need to keep the club running that’s been transferred. I have no idea why there’s no reserve, maybe the sky dd went out
Can we have an update on the hardship some have suffered having to wait an extra 48 hours. It must have been hell on the receiving end of that. Thank God there was no breach of contract, that's all we need right now.
Think of a number, half it, divide by four, subtract the original number and your name is Brady. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
They'll be a large deposit tomorrow with the membership direct debit payments dropping. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
More than likely, some will complain and some can afford steak for Saturday tea. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Wages had already been paid by the time it was reported and players were paid when they were told they would be. I wouldn't be concerned unless it happens again next month. And without kicking the hornets nest of last night, if it's a CASH issue not a P&L issue it just indicates we'll need to offload a chunk of players in the summer as Fletch suggested.
