Hence why I said on Monday that we were in a mess. We need full focus for Saturday and stuff like this doesn’t help at all. We never, ever do things the easy way but Saturday is absolutely HUGE for this club.
Acuns arrogance Has risked the future of the club for a ****ty gamble Late payments is the first step of cash flow issues They wont get paid next months on time either I just cant see how we dont lose We have to stay up or we are ****ed
Probably up there with Warren Joyce's Great Escape in 1999, the implications of dropping to league 1 are not very palatable. Maybe get the Sarge to give the pre-match teamtalk.
But if the payments late while we are still in the championship, why does staying up change the situation? Relegation just makes a bad situation worse no? It's obviously a very worrying situation and I agree its usually a bad sign of things to come, but.... Is it at all possible that there was a genuine error, and all the rumours/concerns coming out the last few days about the clubs future were sparked by this event?
Less money in l1 And less chance of someone wanting to take over i suppose Theres a very small chance its a technical issue But with all the reports It just screams cash flow issue, scrambling funds around And that is never a good sign Id honestly bet next months is worse
Howden and ST have both said the situation is **** whether we stay up or go down but relegation will be much worse.
But Syd says we will have more money in League 1 after we get rid of a few so no one should be worrying.
There’s a few finally coming to grips that we may actually be up **** creek without a paddle. I imagine Gone For A Walk will still be white knighting for Acun when we’re in National League North though.
Well genuine news like this from a proper news source is always more likely to be accepted than hearsay on the internet, however ITK the source is.
if we go down, there wont be money to pay the players next month, we are probably looking at 70% of the first team regulars going at least its an unmitigated disaster reading mk2
The concerning thing about the wages being late is that it isn’t reported as a technical issue but that the club were scrambling to move some money from overseas sources into the club’s account. As others have said, it’s a sign of cash flow problems. Also, how would The Athletic find out? Clearly, someone within the club is concerned enough to leak that information to a respected sports media organisation.
Is it too much to ask to have a sensible owner who may not have enough money but understands the passion of football and understands long term planning?
