Might get pelters for this but it’s extremely exaggerated to say Chris Rigg is one of the best midfielders the championship has ever seen. He’s not even close. He’s probably only our third best midfielder and that’s one season from one club. He has tonnes of potential but let’s not pretend he’s dominating games. Even for Jobe it’s exaggerated. sorry in a bad mood as I’m ill!!!
They are not even close to being 2 of the best midfielders the Championship has ever seen ffs. ..... Cringe.
I barely pay attention to any of these awards tbh. They’re either voted for by fans or people who don’t watch every game … … they’re a bit of harmless fun that are forgotten in a few days.
this wasn’t an award - was a Sunderland twitter person, a self appointed expert, saying Rigg is one of the greatest championship midfielders of all time. Just silly!
Ah right, you’d expect people on the internet to be sensible, logical and reasonable … … this one has obviously slipped through the net
I wonder if in 5 yeara time we might be saying 2 of the best midfielders ever to play in the championship? Not beyond the realms of possibility.
Absolutely we absolutely might look back and say we had two of the future greats for sure. And it’s rare to have that in the same team, not denying that. but for me the greatest ever championship players are the players who were the greatest IN the championship, not the ones who went on to be great. Not that any of this matters
No doubt about it but his potential really is scary. Do feel he’s been overplayed this season (similar to Jobe last year but now look at him) Easy to forget he’s only 17. Serious talent
Defo mate. I was talking to my best mate (mag) the other day about our squad if we go up and I said the thing about the likes of Jobe etc is if we go up and hold onto them all we’re going to be playing so many young lads together they’ll get a pasting most weeks especially that midfield 3. Both physically and technically at this current moment in time unfortunately as a 3 they’re nowhere near being able to compete in the PL. Whereas when they had to play Miley he was playing alongside a top midfielder in Bruno then another with plenty of PL experience so he’s just one small part of a well oiled machine. Jobe or Rigg could both go into that team with Bruno and Tonali alongside them in midfield and they’d be quality. Same with Wharton at Palace, going into a team full of PL experience rather a couple of young lads all making the step up together.
Done a good job as the caretaker but I don't see this going well. Think Swansea will be looking for a new manager before Christmas.
Good on them for me and I hope it does work. Not enough clubs give existing coaches a chance to step up. Nearly 2 points a game over 12 games is a solid interview to be fair.
