In lieu of the annual players awards, I feel it is important to fill the void with the fan’s seasons highlights while we wait for D-Day. It’s been a wild ride, full of excitement, twists and turns and various forays up the pitch that may (in the right circumstances) have resulted in a cross or attempt on goal. But the challenge is to whittle it down to a tangible number of highlights, and for me the 2024/25 season has ‘thrown up’ the following golden nuggets – 3. Two half-time crossbar challenges COMPLETED 2. Seeing someone vomit for 90 whole minutes in full view of the South East corner of the ground, resolutely refusing to do the sane thing by either going home or going to the gents 1. Myself purchasing a pint of Spain’s finest cerveza Madri, along with a Katsu Chicken bowl in the South Stand for the princely sum of £14 or whatever it is, only to find the money never left my account. I’m sure you all have similarly life-affirming tales to tell, and I’m all ears. Let’s hope 2025/26 produces even more spoils on this front. Hit me with your best 3 and I’ll possibly read them.
I've scanned in at every home game this season, I like to try different things. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Only goal i missed taking my daughter to bog was a Leeds one, not much of a highlight as i could have spent most the season in bog and not missed much
Highlight of the season was first home game, had Bristol to win on my bet, such was my low expectation of city, cue oscar scoring a last min penalty, happy with a point I noticed later that I had money in my account, at that point I realised that Betfair pay out at 90 mins. Bonus. Amazing that 9 months later there have been no more than a handful of exciting events at home since then.
Watched every game, but unfortunately only managed to make it in person to 3 home games this season (complicated / valid reasons). 2 of those I was joined by my daughter (voluntarily!). That was nice. Saw Burstow score that cracking late winner v Swansea, right in front of me. He should have been used more than he has (imo).
Finally tried the crumble its was decent but very factory processed , why isn’t there a little red faced dumpling behind the scenes making them by hand ?
3. Burnsey’s commentary 2. Being right from the start about Walter 1. Being right from the start about Selles
The highlight of the season has got to be the two late goals against TWS and shutting up the scarf twirling dipshits from sing 'marching on together' - that was possibly the best bit in a rather crap season
3. The last minute winner at Hillsborough. 93 minutes of absolute dross all made worthwhile by that header from Hughes. 2. The second half away at Oxford, seeing the players give up on Walterball while the City fans sang songs about Ashbee, Myhill, Elliott, Zambrano, and the car park. 1. The fan park at Plymouth pre match. Drinking beer and listening to good live music, chatting to Plymouth fans and admiring their optimism about life under Rooney.
Sneaking in on my grandsons pass.Mine was in my other pocket just in case. Can I have a meat pie please.Sorry we only have steak and ale. Hot water and a mirror in the gents.
Amateur, a couple of years ago I used my bus pass to 'scan' in. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
