Much as I hate to kick a beloved family pet when it's down, I think I found a few examples of what Ivan Djuric meant when he promised heavy metal football...
RIP Clem Burke , I loved the fact that he played in a Blondie tribute band at the same time as still a member of Blondie , travel well sir
Speaking of getting the sack, this was a side project of The Lillingtons front man Kody Templeman The Lillingtons
The wife of Weezer's bassist has been shot by the police and arrested for attempted murder. She was formerly a hooker for the Sultan's of Brunei's brother. Best WTF story of the day!
The boys' itinerary for next month's US Tour. please log in to view this image As Paul has just pointed out, no ****ing rest days in there at all. If they're not playing, they're travelling. Most days, they're doing both. They're in their 60's and 70's, now. Next tour, some R&R please...? These guys need a bit of looking after.
Yep. Captain's views are hardly a secret and he is in significant danger of being refused entry. The others, less likely but still distinctly possible. They're not primarily political, but IJCBHT, Gun Fury, Thanks for the Night, Democracy?, Look Left, Beware of the Clown are all highly derisory of right wing politics and politicians. Captain also recorded 'Yanks with Guns', which won't play well with the King of America. So, whether he gets in is v. much up in the air.
Off to see a mate's band this afternoon in a local pub - The Nightingale in Sutton. It used to be called The Jenny Lind, so a very major musical heritage. All of South West London's punk community will be there and it will be good to catch up, as we've not been up able to get out much, due to my health issues. Also, pretty much everyone supports Palace and will be in the best of moods. Sounds like fun.
All of The Damned, including Captain, made it through immigration and into the States. The fact that they're all posting about it would suggest that they were pretty concerned.
If Trump has been President in the ‘60s, there’d have been no Beatlemania, no British invasion. How would four Scousers have got in?
New hot off the press: 53rd & 3rd, the best Ramones tribute act...ever are to play one final gig, to mark the recent, untimely death of bass player, Pete. Diaries out as it's a little ways off...25th June 2026....yes, 2026!! at The Dublin Castle in Camden. If we all make it that far! It should be a cracker!!!
My nearest town down here in deepest, darkest West Cork, Macroom, has hosted an historic music festival for nearly 50 years. Local hero Rory Gallagher headlined the first in 1977 (there's a great back story to this appearance and the initial opposition of the council and many residents.) It's still a great mini-festival, although no mega-names in the bill. The Undertones are headlining this year.
Mrs B would give you a terrible savaging for implying that The Undertones are not a 'mega-name'. I'm not that brave....
