Seen @Smug in Boots suggest making a final day thread so thought i'd do it. Leeds and Burnley going for the title. Bristol City, Coventry, Millwall, Blackburn and Boro fighting for two open playoff spots. Stoke, Derby, Preston, Luton, Hull and Plymouth fighting to stay up. Would take a miracle for Plymouth to stay up though.
I'll go with; Leeds to win the title Bristol City and Boro to sneak into the playoffs Plymouth and Preston to go down.
my preference will be Burnley Win Coventry draw Bristol win Blackburn win means we get Bristol City and Coventry and smoggies miss out on play offs Blackburn sneak in Plymouth and Preston to go down
Seen this on Roker Report's fb page. Lets get behind the lads no matter what Saturday! Let’s be honest: it’s been a frustrating few weeks. We’ve been locked into the playoffs for what feels like forever but instead of feeling excited, some of us are feeling angry, twitchy, and worried. Results haven’t been great, performances haven’t been sparkling and because of that, the doubts have crept in. But here’s the truth: this is a young squad, one of the youngest in the league, and they need us now more than ever. These lads have given everything over a long, tough season. They’ve played without fear and with heart, and they’ve got us to the point where promotion is still firmly on the table. That doesn’t happen by accident. Now’s not the time for moaning and finger-pointing; instead, now’s the time to remind these players who they’re playing for. It’s time to fill the Stadium of Light on Saturday and show the pride, the passion and the noise that makes Sunderland different. Bring your scarf, bring your mate, bring your belief, and when we’re back at home for the second leg, back at the Stadium of Light, we go even bigger. We make it a wall of red and white; a fortress, a cauldron. We lift them, we drag them, and we roar them all the way to Wembley if we have to. Momentum isn’t given. It’s made, and it starts with us. One club, one aim. Let’s back the Lads 100%, no matter what. We’ve come this far together. Let’s finish the job together. Haway the lads!
Only single seats left in the lower bowl, we turn up in numbers regularly, time to bring the noise! Feels like a proper season starts now moment
Some big teams could get dragged in to that final relegation spot mind. Preston has come out of no where! Stoke would be canny mad too, I do see derby getting a win so all sorts could happen. Hull would be in a state financially. I think okay offs stay as they are.
its going to be utter carnage, for the fans that have nothing riding on Saturday, will be an utter joy to watch also glad we having nothing really riding on this
I hadn’t even noticed hull thought they were decent up here and assumed they were in mid table nothingness
Just happy not to be involved in those crunch matches at either end of the table, they could go anyway, Cardiff and Plymouth already down, so just one relegation spot, but the play off places are mad. Lets just hope we get back to top form
Tough ask going to Burnley and needing the win. As for relegation I think Plymouth are gone as they're not gonna reduce goal difference and I would love to see luton go down again, if not then then hull will be good
I like it tbh, things were being spread over the TV threads, non-Sunderland games, etc ... ... this is quite a unique occasion, with loads of potential playoff opponents for Sunderland and loads of relegation candidates. I was seriously tempted to lose my train bookings and watch here with the curtains closed It's only 'cos I'm meeting a few of the lads and want to applaud that young team off the pitch. This is TV gold imo, don't give me Sky's 'fascinating scramble for a European competition' ... ... we've already qualified for two cup competitions next season
With only 90 minutes left our playoff opponents could be Bristol, Coventry, Millwall, Blackburn or Boro ... ... my 'predictions' are Blackburn for the semi-final and Preston for relegation
What's wrong with https://not606.com/threads/the-championship-24-25.415239/page-65#post-18339134 Surely we don't need people posting in both?
I think we'll play Bristol City and Sheff U will play Blackburn. Bristol C will thump Preston,Millwall will lose at Burnley,Coventry and Boro will draw and Blackburn will win at Sheffield. Plymouth are gone at the bottom,Hull will draw at Portsmouth,Luton will draw at WBA, which will send Preston down. I don't want to see this however,I'd much prefer horrible Luton to lose and go down....I just don't think they will. PS: I hope I haven't made an arse of myself in my calculations here! It has been known!
Dunno mate, I just think it's such a specific event whereas the other covers everything. On Saturday some might post on that thread, some on our match thread and others on the non-Sunderland games thread. I think this intensifies the whole day which will be incredible imo ... ... teams will be swapping places minute by minute.
