How depressing is sport by the way? Hull City. England and Yorkshire cricket. Need to find another hobby, or watch RL, but I'm not that desperate!
He's a big lad though for 14, not saying he isn't 14 but he looks big and stocky, made for hitting 6's.
I was watching a YouTube video about Don Bradman recently. Amazingly in his 52 test matches he only scored six sixes, and in his other 234 first class matches he never hit a six. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
They say that modern bat technology and smaller pitches renders hitting 6's easier, also I think modern cricket with IPL, T20, etc encourages big hitters. It'd be interesting to see the number of 6's hit in test matches over the ages. I'm sure it's in Wisden but I'm buggered if I'm going to look!
Different grades of sandpaper in Don's first class matches? The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Such a baffling team. The talent is there, and it's matches like these against Essex that kind of infuriate me the most in a way! Lining up for a decent championship this year, no obvious runaway leaders like Surrey for the past few seasons, as always a shame that we'll go about 2 1/2 months without any 4 days action soon
Has anyone ever been to watch the cricket at the HERSC on Chants? Facilities any good? I note there is a day of hit and giggle stuff there on Sunday between Hull, Driffield and York. Weather still looks good so contemplating walking down.
Madness Bairstow bowled two spinners for 64 overs today, where Spinners accounted for a total of 4 wickets out of 39. Hill only bowled 12 overs by tea after getting a 6 for in the first innings. Coad was totally under bowled too. Poor deceleration as well. Just poor captaining all round I thought.
england playing a one-off 4-day test against zimbabwe starting today. crawley and duckett put on 231 before duckett went for 140 with his average nudging 40 (not certain whether the 140 has been included on his cricinfo profile page; if not, his average is now a shade above 41.5). england, still just the one wicket down, are scoring at over five and a half per over and heading toward a first day total of 500.
there was a t20 game between windies women and england women yesterday. windies batted first and produced one of those one-player-carrying-the-team performances. they scored 146/7 off their 20 overs. three players reached double figures. one of them got 11. another got 17. the third, hayley matthews, scored 100 not out off 67 deliveries, with 16 fours and a six. just as well she turned up. the england women had no trouble winning, reaching 150/2 off 16.3 overs. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...-indies-women-1st-t20i-1448391/full-scorecard
