Bristol City go into their last two league games requiring three points to 100% guarantee a playoff spot. Monday nights game I don’t see city bringing any points back from Elland Road and it will be a case of trying to keep a respectable loss on the cards. Saturdays home game with Preston is the must win game. Leeds are desperate for the championship title and will want to keep on the tails of Burnley. All we can hope for is no injuries to key players ready for next Saturdays game. I was in Leeds last weekend seeing my son over the bank holiday weekend. Went passed Elland Road a couple of times. Let’s put this one down to another Leeds promotion party and we quickly move on to the Preston game who themselves are fighting to stay in the championship after this weekends results.
Can’t see us getting anything from this one. They want the crown - and to reach 100 points. Yes I know we also need the points, but basically man for man they are simply better than we are.

An 8pm kick-off on a Monday night, nothing says Sky and the EPL want Leeds to win the league like this…..
If Leeds beat us tomorrow to guarantee them the championship title and 100 points Burnley will need to win their last game, which just happens to be at home against…..Millwall, who are 1 point behind us. Or to put it another way Millwall are a point behind us with 1 game to play, away to Burnley.
Going down to the last game of the season and I don’t expect city to brush Preston away who are fighting to stay in the championship. Going to be a hard game for city.
Why particularly?, Millwall wasn’t good, but as in my previous post they’ll need to get something out of their last game, which is away to Burnley. Coventry lost which was good for us, isn’t their last game against Boro?. We’re still 5th with 2 games to go and a game in hand on those below us. Most of the teams below have difficult games. In all honesty we’re better placed than the others. It’s squeaky bum time though I agree. Fingers and everything else crossed. It could be worse, we could be in Cardiff’s position
We are facing the dubious task of beating Leeds at Elland Road if we want to grab a play-off spot by the nuts and make it hurt for a Sky Sports favourite for TV pundits. I am dreading playing PNE at Ashton Gate if we are solely relying on the result to get us a play-off position because our feet and projectiles seem to come together at times when least needed. The results from yesterday didn't quite go all our way but we are still there and only poor decision making and apathy can sink us now and we all know we are more than capable of self destruction at a mere whim. Trusting the football gods is about the best I can offer but let's hope the players are in a zone whereby they can't lose unless they have a round of golf scheduled for the next day which essentially negates the entire season. Good luck lads you know you want it so badly, so go out and grab it like you've never grabbed before. Vinny Jones holding Gazza's nuts in a tackle comes to mind as a motivator if ever there was one.
Only the Millwall and Blackburn results were bad for us. The Cov and Boro results went our way. It’s still ours to lose.
been out and about in southport today to have a few beers and watch the liverpool game and i was surprised that nearlly all the people i talked to, on learning i was a city fan said mutch the same thing, hope you go up... cracking weekend that bristol
I don't agree. Coventry losing.....ideal. Boro not winning .....perfect. I was fearing both Coventry and Boro winning. As for Millwall and Blackburn they're both away in their last games at Burnley and Sheffield United. We certainly would have settled for that scenario prior to those games.
True, I meant more at the bottom, as PNE are far from safe. So they will come knowing they have to fight.
Bristol City predicted team vs Leeds: Manning faces Williams call as Reds deal with Pring blow Bristol City and Liam Manning will be without Cam Pring when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Monday evening https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-predicted-team-vs-10136419 Bristol City XI (3-4-2-1): Max O'Leary; Haydon Roberts, Rob Dickie, Zak Vyner; Ross McCrorie, Marcus McGuane, Jason Knight, George Tanner; George Earthy, Max Bird; Nahki Wells
That left side of defence is weak, and I’m sure Leeds will look to exploit that. We will miss Sykes and his pace on the counter massively in games like this, as Leeds will attack is. I would start with Anis and Sinclair on each flank to see if it troubles them.
As I said on multiple threads; I can’t see us getting anything at Leeds. However, I think if we push Earthy forward he could cause problems - but he must be fed. He was getting into some great positions v Sunderland in the first half, but his runs weren’t spotted and the ball was instead passed around the horseshoe.
Pressure is a funny thing and can affect teams differently. Leeds will want the title, no doubt, all teams and fans do, but Leeds fans are especially demanding/arrogant about this. Burnley winning on Sat, and with a home game to come, means Leeds HAVE to win tonight to take it to the last game and have it in their hands. For me, that creates an opportunity for us, but we have to be ready to take it, and for me, that’s a fast-counter attack based game for this evening.
firstly we need to be far more clinical in front of goal-stop trying to walk it into the net. If we don't try and score then they will need the headingley cricket scoreboard at elland road tonight.
