The new Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire role is not just voted for by just the brain dead Labour plebs of Hull but also the Conservative voters of East Yorkshire. So what is actually happening here is that the East Yorkshire voters have switched to Reform (ex-Hull pugilist Luke Campbell) and, just as in local elections in Hull, the plebs are going to the Liberal Democrats (Hull City Council leader Mike Ross). If the pugilist wins (currently ahead in the polls) then he will get paid loads to be the figurehead of the new role but I expect that Reform have some other people lined up to actually do the day-to-day running of the office. A better fit for the headline here would be the one about the Marxists slowly losing Hull to the Lib Dems at local council elections over the last four years as only the sink council estates vote for Daren Hale’s incompetent reds.
