One thing I do think, KLD won’t be as patient as our fans have been if we turn up for the playoffs like we have for the last four games, If he thinks someone is better out there and available RLB will be gone and there’s no better time than the end of the season.
Yeah cant get any worse mate. Youd think theyd have put abit more effort in yesterday though knowing that they are going to Portugal for a week to prepare instead of flying over after a 0-2 defeat
Aye it’s frustrating mate. I’m clinging to the ‘sandbagging’ line. Everyone looks calm, including RLB, which I’m taking as a pointer. Gotta have hope
Welcome to the forum mate, you're joining at a very exciting time. After years in the third division we're now three games away from the Premier League and guaranteed a playoff place. In the meantime supporters of Boro, Coventry, Bristol, etc will be thinking 'Bollocks, perhaps we've blown it'. We have highly talented, fabulously valuable, players the likes of which we couldn't have dreamt about recently. We're trying something different to the usual plodding predictability with a manager who's clearly learning on the job but capable of trying different systems and capable of focussing on the task ahead when some supporters are demanding what they think's best. The stadium is constantly improving and we're starting to look like a really professional club with strong foundations. We're debt free and have a squad worth three times what the owner paid for the entire club. All it will take is for the manager and the club to keep their heads and get the job done ... ... hopefully the supporters can keep theirs and do their bit. In the meantime the supporters can just sit back and watch the other playoff teams squirm, kick each other all over the pitch, pick up injuries, get sent off and generally exhaust themselves mentally and physically ... at the same time our players can jet off to a lovely training camp, have team meetings, talk through all the issues, bond and play ping-pong All exciting stuff and a great opportunity for all concerned.
There has never been a secret switch to turn form off and back on as yesterday showed. Regi is a fool if he thinks there is .
In my opinion the tempo gradually fell away after our Portuguese defensive coach came. I’m not saying he’s a poor coach at all , I don’t know enough about him to say that, but him arriving and Dodds leaving seem to be linked. Also although I support RLB I do have concerns about his insistence on the players taking responsibility to solve problems during the game. If things aren’t going well then surely it’s his job to make changes, including earlier substitutions. There again what do I know.
Bad news for Bristol, Coventry, Boro, Sheff Utd then ... ... two lose to Luton who've barely won all season, one can't score at home against a team wearing flip-flops and the other has lost four of the last six games. What's worse is that they were all absolutely desperate for points while we're keeping players fit and avoiding more injuries. Some of the others are being sent off and picking up injuries that'll keep them out of the run in. The playoffs may well be a lottery but we have a ticket, some of them might not even get one. By the time they do they'll be physically and mentally shredded.
Steady on You’ll be deemed negative despite telling it how it is. It’s been ****ing rank for ages now
Reading the forum it seems likely people know what the performances have been like ... ... perhaps they just don't need being continually lectured as if they're rose tinted gullible dopes.
We've attempted 176 shots from outside the box this season. Patrick Roberts has attempted 39 of them. That is 22% of our shots from outside the box being attempted by a player who can't shoot. He hasn't scored from outside of the box since we've been promoted. Please stop him shooting.
What I find the most frustrating...At the start of the season we deployed a very high press and overwhelmed the opposition... after a few weeks we dropped off allowing them possession and we became a counter attacking team...why did we change something that was so effective
I was worried the impact of Dodds leaving on the players would be big. A good coaching team requires different skill sets. Dodds was clearly in tune with the younger players. I dare say Rigg and Jobe in particular were well connected with him. Dodds is regarded in very high esteem in his ability to give individual attention and focus on game improvements. I wonder if some are missing that individual chat with someone who has time to listen closely and help. I do think we are one or two too few as a coaching team generally. Whatever league we are in next summer I hope it is something we look at, so additional coaching voices to complement what we already have.
Said the same to my dad, we have 2 decent strikers but means nowt if they are feeding off scraps. Massive lack of creativity in the team is the issue for me.
