Four games remaining After a deserved point at the athletics ground Saints can no longer be the outright worst PL side ever with just one point needed to break Derby hearts. Has Saturday's result given anyone any additional enthusiasm for this? I think it has partly for me but I'm also wary that we've not had two decent performances in a row all season so a 0-2 seems most likely. Let's hope Fulham bring their flip flops. UTFS.
We might, just might get a point here if Fulham can't be arsed and Rusk picks the right team and formation. Which as those of us who are members of the football intelligentsia know, is 4-4-2 and getting it in the mixer Fuck SR PS Hope you're covering the match threads until the end of the season
Saturday 26th April 2025. St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton Southampton V Fulham. 15:00 KO Referee: Tony Harrington. Assistants: Scott Ledger, Sian Massey-Ellis. Fourth official: Sam Allison. VAR: Paul Howard. Assistant VAR: Constantine Hatzidakis.
It’s a sobering thought that even if we win all our last 5 games, we’ll still finish at least 10 points behind 17th place.
Sobering is not the word I would choose if we win our next 5 games... I definitely won't be sober! I'm stupidly optimistic about this one: 3 points in the bag, Rusk should be the next manager. There, I said it
Classic match from back in the day, Saints smashed a Fulham team that included Bobby Moore, Rodney Marsh and George Best (who got sent off!)...
I was at that game and, unless my memory is playing tricks, I remember George Best’s girlfriend being there with a camera, following him around during the pre-match warm up. Oh for a Super Ted MacDougall or a Mick Channon now. Or pretty much any of that day’s team, truth be told.
