Are there any (preferably free) electric car charging places in the hull area. I have a friend coming to visit with a plug in hybrid, I only have a 13amp socket and no cheap over night electric and don't want to get into downloading loads of apps at the road side. If its too much hassle will just drive on petrol but by eck it can't half drink it.
A plug in hybrid will generally not have that big a battery so the cheapest/most convenient probably will be to 'granny charge' at home. The most it will cost I expect is £2 or £3 at 27 or 28p per kwh or whatever it is at the moment. He should be able to calculate how much electricity he's used and how much he owes you. Otherwise Tesco for I think 44p or so a kwh, or if he does need a rapid charge, then Lidl with the Lidl app as that way you get a slightly cheaper rate. These days v difficult to find completely free charging.
Possibly the daftest car ever made, an Aston Martin city car, with a 4.7 V8 Vantage engine. There's only one and it could be yours for about £500k. please log in to view this image
0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds. Dead handy if you spot a parking spot a hundred metres or so in front of you and want to beat the gas guzzling SUV along side you to the precious space.
tiny cars like that, should get dedicated parking spots closest the shop might slowly encourage the uptake of them suvs can have the spots furthest away
Mustang dark horse is more or less the same size as a Range Rover and uses more fuel. Pick the bones out of that...
Tesla’s flailing sales figures have put the company closer to the red than it has been in years, according to financial results released Tuesday, threatening one of its biggest advantages over other EV players. The electric automaker reported $409 million in net income on $19.3 billion in revenue after delivering almost 337,000 EVs in the first quarter of the year. The company’s net income reflects a 71% drop from the same quarter last year. It was the worst quarter for Tesla deliveries in more than two years and came on the heels of the company’s first-ever year-to-year drop in sales. Tesla’s income was buffered by selling $595 million in zero-emissions tax credits, according to its earnings report — without those, it would have posted a loss.
I don't know why car companies haven't got more radical with the design of EV's, even Tesla just make bland looking saloon cars (or trucks that look like a skip). I was hoping to see more futuristic designs, like the VW XL1, which was a diesel hybrid that did 280 mpg. It's 14 years old now, but still looks more futuristic than anything currently on the market (though they did cost £100k in 2013)... please log in to view this image
