... Look North will be presenting an hour long special with interviews on the red carpet and reports from the after dinner party. Seriously I'm expecting Trai Hume to win player of the year and young player of the year ... ... possibly both of the women's categories as well Who would you vote me ... Hume and Rigg for me, total cost, next to nowt.
Going to be honest here, think it's a shambles that Jobe hasn't won one of them. Best player by an absolute mile.
Not sure about by an absolute mile, don’t get me wrong if he won either player or young player I can see the argument for it, but his attacking output has dropped right off. I’d have Hume as POTS and Jobe or Eli as YPOTS.
I think the 0% win ratio when Jobe doesn't start is good enough evidence to be honest. Don't think Hume was all that good first half of the season, much better second half though.
It's really not the best time to have the awards. No doubt social media will claim there's a mutiny and all the players have boycotted it against the club's wishes.
We’ve drawn 5 and lost 1 without him including results when we’ve been rotating/ resting so not sure that’s a huge barometer. Like I said I get the argument and no complaints here if he won either but the original statement was hyperbole and does a disservice to Hume and 1-2 others imo.
Would not agree with hell on but I think everyone is disappointed with the lack of players who attended - it was the same last year . The SAFC fans back the club by supporting the team home and away in huge numbers and I think it reflects very badly on the players that they are not willing to give up a couple of hours to show the appreciation the fans deserve . Sunderland Branch Liason council organise the player of the year on an annual basis and it is only the last couple of years that the players attending has gone down significantly which is certainly disappointing particularly for the kids attending hoping for autographs and photo opportunities . To say there was hell on is a vast over statement !
My mate was there, said it was a shocking turnout from the men's team. Virtually all the ladies team were there though.
Trai Hume , Romaine Mundle , Chris Rigg , Dan Neil , and most of the ladies team same as last year- you feel for them a bit as most people passed by them even though their was large lines for the four men’s team players . My grandchildren love to go and though disappointed at the lack of players stilll enjoyed themselves .
No doubt, but it’s sad they can’t give a few hours for the fans who most games spend 3 hrs travelling by Leeds and back to get to most other away games.
Crazy that Norwich are the only side outside the top four to be represented and they have two players in there:
