Operation tomorrow to save the sight in my left eye, right one's ****ed, can see light but not much else. Anyway today could be my last day posting if it goes tits up like the right one did, could be anything from 3 days to 8 weeks before I get any vision back. They're really not sure, think they've prepared me for the worst with 8 weeks but have said at least 6 weeks before I can drive again, even if it goes well.
Im taking my old dear out for an Indian for her birthday at the end of the week my daughter will have chips and might try and peel the spices off of a piece of chicken maybe lol
Hope all goes well mate and that it is no where near as bad as they have prepared you for. I love your walking adventure stories on here, you're like the action man of this forum and to imagine you without your eyesight that's pretty ****.
That's just how she is, if she wants to come for an Indian with us, it has to be a particular one, as theirs is the only chicken tikka she'll eat, then it's a starter portion, with 10 chips and 5 spoons of basmati rice
Thanks mate, appreciated. Should have had it done December but I wanted a certain surgeon to do it and tomorrow was his first available date.
This guy man, proper hit and run. Got your charity walk donations and now he's ****ing off.... on another note, good luck gessa. It's been a pleasure knowing you. i've particularly enjoyed all your lovely scenic photos and your wit. If worse comes to worse you can look forward to this. I will start up a fund raiser so someone with soft hands can do this for you please log in to view this image
Just as a bright spot, my other grandad went blind in his late 70s (something about his eye jelly so he could only see a bit out of his peripheral vision). He still managed to have a great time eating good food and hiring a maid to nosh him off. My cousin walked in on him once.
Hope it all goes well for you mate. Can only imagine how much of a worrying time this will be for you now.
Cheers Saf, can't lie, it is a worry but I'm sure all will go well and they're erring on the side of caution. I've got confidence in the surgeon, he's been through a few things with me and he's definitely been worth waiting for.
