Didn't someone claim we'd signed one in January and that never happened?

Doesn't he have legs? People kept saying he'd be gassed after half a match, and he kept going, he was one of our most active players, flicking from one wing to the other, in everything, held the ball up well, switched the play well, spotted up options really well. Other than score that chance early in the game I don't know what else he had to do. I'd happily have him for 12 months with the understanding his game time will be limited but that he'll be a good depth option and a good figure around the club. Honestly the fact he put in that much effort for someone on a short term stint at the end of his career is simply remarkable.

So we'll start our striking options again from scratch?

Is there any indication Barry will be with us next season? I’d seen it as a hope, nothing more.

    We have joseph

But why not just keep the exact same team then
Might finish 20th next season too

Yes, when he first signed it was seen as an 18 month loan unless something remarkable happened, and unless the injury is considered that (and I don't think it is or he wouldn't be playing in the final two games for us) I think there's every intention to have him here next year.

Is that the same Joseph you said is the worst player to play for City? <doh> Make up your mind!

Why would we finish 20th with the exact same team when under Selles we'd be around the top half? Ignoring the players returning from injury and any additions we might make of course.. <doh>

Nothing set in stone but it's been talked about and that's the intention.

Completely agree. He should be an example for Kamara on how to act on a football pitch.

As I said, it depends on his wages but I can't understand financially how you wouldn't keep him if he's not going to break the bank. Why turf him and require two new strikers?

It’s sad what’s happening to Reading but a lot of their players are out-of-contract so wouldn’t cost a transfer fee or would cost a smaller compensation fee. Mbengue is out-of-contract. Knibbs and Wing aren’t though so would cost a fee. Ehibhatiomhan is also out-of-contract.

When he and Burstow were on the pitch late yesterday it seemed like Burstow played up top with Pedro in the 10 role anyway, which I thought was quite effective. And again, like Amrabat, Pedro was dropping deep, defending, clearing the ball, getting up the pitch, I don't really get this 'they've got no legs' idea other than when it comes to direct one on one pressing which, yes, Joseph is a lot better at.

Thing is they'll surely have a new owner soon so we need to strike while the iron is hot, so to speak.

I agree, I was more making the point that Pedro was deployed deeper and was quite capable.
