Boring post alert!!!
Noticed the linesman having to tell Kamara the rules when the first penalty was taken. Standing at the side of the box but in front of the ball. Might be because we don't get many but is this usually where we line up - either side of the box?

Also, rarely see this one being enforced. Noticed the ref not interested in it today but there's always a small chance the ball could hit a bouncing crossbar.

I think the ref told him not to on the second penalty
Whether he would have had the balls to order it retaken if it missed first time or not is another matter though

Dodgy first decision but we will take it
Keeper shoulda saved the pen too
Second one deffo a pen
And a better finish

I thought the second pen was a much weaker hit but luckily the keeper went the other way. Or maybe not luckily. First one beat him because of its power, which too often ours don't.

The second pen was a great take, look how he twists his body to make it look like a far corner shot then send it into the near corner. A proper quality bit of technique there.

As welcome as that win was ...I fear it just once again papers over the cracks so to speak. Selles (and us) got lucky today. I'm not saying they weren't penalties but neither were from stopping certain goals. It was yet another game since the break that we have been so poor in attacking terms. 2 penalties saved us. Again no 'normal' goal. We've had 2 pens, 1 fortunate deflection and a last gasp wonder goal in our last 6. It's shocking. Motm was 38 y.o. Amrabat, coz he ran his heart out and tried to make something happen. 2 long range shots from defenders and thats about it. 1st half was poor and I don't think Selles got it right, but the fight and urgency was good to see 2nd half. I don't see where the goals will come from to beat Derby or Portsmouth and I doubt we can rely on penalties or whatever like we had to do today.
Sorry to piss on the parade but just adding some realism. Of course I hope Selles and the team prove me wrong in these last two, but I fail to see why anyone should expect they will. We have to hope.

It doesn’t have to be a certain goalscoring opportunity to be a penalty. What sort of drivel is that?

He's saying we'd unlikely have created a goal otherwise. And let's be honest, most referees bottle penalty shouts in tight games. Then you see the one for the supposed handball the other week. It's a total lottery.

The positive is we're only more likely to win them by getting the ball into the box more, which we did in the second half today.

The hope is that the turnaround today spurs them on and keeps the fire in their bellies. It needs to instil some confidence that they can score goals, because they can. We just need to go for it. Confidence must have been **** for most of the season and if we can muster enough for the last couple of games it should hopefully be enough for a fresh start next season.

Yeah, this is why I added the "or maybe not luckily" to my post, because I had no idea whether he deliberately sent the keeper the other way like some takers do or if the keeper just guessed wrong. Either way, I thought the first one beat him because of the quality of the shot, which I appreciate because too often you see penalty takers just stick it vaguely to one side with no real power and then have it saved; we missed a few penalties last season doing that.

To be fair non of the teams “ battling “ for the play off places look quality.

I thought Cov were probably the best team I’ve seen when I went at their place. I think they’re a bit like us last year. Great in the middle but a bit suspect in both boxes

Bristol seem a sum of all their parts. Don’t have a star to dig them out.

Sunderland just appear to have their feet up since the realised they couldn’t get autos

Brady, if that is a genuine quote from you then you really need to reassess. Utter verbal diarrhoea.

Just clear hyperbole
Said it when he made an awful awful touch
Is what it is

Ive said many times i like him so
