A word for Parker. Class job. Many doubted him but he is clearly a very talented coach. 3 promotions from this division is some achievement. It is impossible to underestimate the coaching job he and his team have produced this season. The Burnley team that came down defended like a Sunday side at times. He sorted that and then some. Manager of season in my book. I hope he now proves himself in the premier league. He has the basis of a good looking squad. Will need maybe 4 elite level lads to help him. Might want to start with Hamer, he was brilliant once again I thought.
It was never in doubt tbh mate. Must credit Sheff United and ourselves for keeping pace for a good while too
oh 100%. Their defensive record this season is mesmeric. Not wanting to take away from the brilliant job he’s done. More the way Sky are going on like Burnley the underdogs have got promoted
I feel a little like the away games at Burnley and Leeds were a case of what might have been for us. Probably not, but if momentum is worth anything I do wonder if the deserved 6 points, not 1, may have pushed us on further and higher. If I were a Sunderland coach tonight I would message the squad and remind them all of how we performed against those just promoted.
What did you make of Jones today mate? Think if he bulks up a little bit over the summer he could be a good member of the squad
Not enough said about how poor their front 3 was for most of the season either. Fleming is crap, Antony been pretty average all of his career then nobody really solidified the right winger position iirc. Made them an unbeatable force and took what little chances they had when they got them.
It’s like when the presenter, on HIGNFY, says, ‘In the interests of balance I now need to criticise the Labour Party’
Know exactly what you mean regarding Burnley away, can’t agree with Leeds mate. We were superb first half, nowhere near second.
Didn't realise how close Preston are to the relegation zone. 2 league wins since the start of February! Could be in bother if they lose their last 2.
Very promising. Carried the ball well, and linked play from midfield to attack. He doesnt have that instant wow factor that Neil or Rigg had. The minute I saw them in mens football I thought they were going to be class players. There are 2 things I look for in a young player above all else. First is are they able to play on the half turn and are they willing to keep doing it. Jones showed that today. It takes bravery to play that way, but it makes the game so much easier. The second is do they have that picture in their head of the pitch and where they are on it. That is Neils greatest attribute, he sees the whole game. Jones didnt have that today for me, and a couple of bad choices showed that. He ran into someone elses space a couple of times for example. But that is an attribute that can come with time, and good coaches will work on that with him. All in all I think he is a good technician with an instinct to play forward. If we are in the championship I would keep him in the squad next season and watch his development closely. If we are in the prem I would loan him to a championship side that want to play a possessiom game.
He’ll be hurting, a genuine Sheff United fan Interesting couple of games ahead for them Still make them favourites to win the play-offs
Would have loved that Marcus Edward’s mind, Roberts needs to be bench at best next season if we want to kick on
I’d be hurting if I failed for automatics with that squad anarl. Two best midfielders in the league by some stretch. Few very good players in on loan. Plenty more with PL experience
Can’t stand that horrible gobshite. Did he attack the Burnley players for celebrating promotion in front of him? I know how Keegone ended but would love it just love it ….
