If Röhl goes to Southampton they'll be right up there, they'll bring in a load of money for the likes of Dibling, Harwood-Bellis, Ramsdale and more. They have top level Championship players like Archer, Armstrong, Shea Charles, Stewart (if he's ever fit) and a load more. They'll be fine. It's Leicester I worry about. They need a complete squad overhaul and I'm not sure I trust their recruitment of managers or players. Will still be in and around the playoffs at worst though.
Managerial appointments are crucial for Southampton and Leicester but aye smart money would put them in the top 6 minimum, Ipswich the best equipped by far
Effectively they are now. The most points they can get are 36, which West Ham are on now. But West Ham are 20 goals better off on goal difference. Ipswich will have to win every game, West Ham lose every game and Ipswich will have to score at least 16 more goals than West Ham in the process. It would take a miracle for that to happen. If West Ham hadn't conceded ok late yesterday, all three would be down now. I can't think of a time that the relegation teams were sorted this early, with 5 games to go, in a season.
I'm not convinced about Southampton, it's more to do with the owners than anything else. Since taking over they've made some massive mistakes & don't seem to have a clear plan on what they're going for. There's also been quite a bit of upheaval behind the scenes with the owners, people changing roles or leaving. A lot of Southampton fans think they've wasted money and bloated the squad. Most Southampton fans think that they have taken them back over in the last three years since taking over. On paper it seems a good opportunity for Rohl, but as he's working under one nutcase now and might not fancy a repeat.
Watched it. Ekwah had a very nice game, 43/44 passes completed! Stassin, previously linked with us, looks very good.
I agree with him. From a “watching games” perspective, I prefer it here! But from a financial business perspective, PL is the best place to be for SAFC as a whole
Most of my saints mates are worried for next season. just because they will have the money means nothing. look at Luton…. think the double drop will become common soon
I’m pretty comfortable that we have a regime in place to avoid that if/when we get to the PL. unlike some of course
