He's one of those players who is too good for the championship and not good enough for the premier league, to be fair they're two different animals.
Definitely agree, but even the 27 PL appearances needs to be taken into account on how many have been full games. 17 times he's been brought on as a sub, with 12 of those appearances being less than 20 minutes. So far in total he's played 984 minutes, averaging 36.4 minutes per game. That's not a huge amount, especially if he's being tried in a new role or adapt to a new system. That being said, some Ipswich fans have said he's looked better in recent games, but the chicken and egg is he's arguably not had enough time to adapt to how they want him to play and they've been too dogmatic by not adapting to his strengths as well. Unless they change it's going to largely be the same next season.
I really hope Trent somehow stays. A completely unique player, very rare that you have a match winner at right back.
