Very reasonable response, hard to disagree for the most part. If it's the 2 of us facing off in the semi finals then I'd rather the winner of that game go up, the other teams around the playoffs are unbearable and their fans even more so. One thing I always struggle with is "denial of a goal scoring opportunity", is that still the language the officials use? Seems so subjective and in my opinion that would have been an opportunity to have a shot from wide of the 6 yard box and was hardly a clear cut goal scoring opportunity. Then is any chance of a 1 on 1 a chance where you could score. Ah well I'll stop rambling, hope your family had a nice day.
Is using his experience a clever way of saying hes a ****ing cheat? Dropped to the floor after four steps following being anywhere near Hume. His reaction said it all, celebrating it like a goal because he'd conned the official. The 4 or 5 players who all ran straight over to the ref too. It gave you an incredible advantage of course, you took it. Not convinced you get 3pts 11v11 mind.
And you did after the second goal? But we got booked for it! Wells is a cheat. Plain and simple. “Feeling contact” does not make it a foul. And the fact that you said he probably wouldn’t have scored says it all. Your players are a disgrace. 3 times surrounding the ref in the game to try to persuade him to make a decision. Once when your players dived without retribution! You’re an awful team and I hope we beat you by a controversial goal in the play offs. That will be absolutely just desserts. As for wells, if he broke his keg, I’d probably smile. He’s an awful example of a footballer and a cheat who’d rather see the oppponent sent off than score himself
A good game totally spoiled by the worst referee in the league - fcuk you Oliver Langford For those first initial 7 minutes I thought we were looking comfortable, knocking it around quite well and their first attack he goes and produces a red card. I thought we played well in the first half with 10 men and what a goal from Mayenda - absolutely superb. Dan Neil played well in defence and Roberts could easily have doubled our lead. Bristol play some decent football to be fair but they only had a few long shots. We dropped back in the second half and I can only remember us having one real attempt on goal. Their equaliser could have gone anywhere as he had a few shots that went miles wide but he caught it well on that occasion and it went right in the top corner. The winning goal took a bit of a deflection and squirmed through Patto's legs, but we should have cleared it long before that. I think Watson has played his last game for us now, as that was truly awful. I'd hate to see his stats. I've given him a lot of praise in the past but there were some boos as he came over to applaud our fans and he was the first of our players to leave the field. Remind me to never travel to Bristol on a bank holiday again, the M4 was terrible. @safcfansofaraway - hope you had a good day out
Tapping a player on the back is contact but it's not a foul, it's a contact sport. You can't give a free kick every time players touch each other. What Hume 'did' had no impact physically and it didn't cause the bloke to fall over like he did, he dived then celebrated the red card like a proper tosser. Buggered up the game for us, it's very difficult to recover from a sending off at that stage of the game.
I know he's shone in the reserves etc, but he only had half a dozen starts, 2 were really good games but other than that what has he done. Don't get me wrong Brighton will have watched him for a while and know what they are looking for, but **** me he's got a lot to prove yet. If his performance tonight is and indicator for his professionalism it doesn't bode well. At a club that have nurtured him, brought him through the ranks , given him his opportunity of first team football. He was offered a new contract but has basically forced the move. He has the chance to go out on a high , helping his boyhood club back to the PL. However he obviously doesn't give a toss about the club he owes everything to. Hope RLB realises the lad is the waste of a shirt and doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the squad
We did timewaste. 83 minutes plus added time is an awful long time to play a man down. Seems to me like Wells felt the ball was sending him wider than he fancied so he chucked himself down and the ref bought it. your players seemed intent on claiming for absolutely anything as well. Very poor, I've nowt against you personally but you can surely understand why our fanbase is upset.
I’ve not really disagreed with you. Sorry, I’m saying that Wells used his wily experience Absolutely agree with all this. Wells made the most of minimal contact Your chaps wasted time when 1-0 up (great goal btw) We made the most of every situation… …. Isn’t that the norm in professional football? Especially when a possible seat at the top table is at stake?
I suspect you'd have said 'Hasta Luego' five minutes after the final whistle if you'd lost ... ... 45 minutes ago and you're still here
Have to disagree with some of the comments regarding their striker being a cheat mind, my last post on the matter because I’m falling asleep - I’ve watched Isidor go down like he’s been shot umpteen times this season. In fact I’ve probably lost count because most of the time he gets told to get up and avoids a booking for diving.. All strikers do it these days. If that was one of ours we’d all be saying it’s clever, as we did when Isidor got Souttar sent off at Sheff Utd. Or won the penalty at Burnley. It’s just the game now unfortunately they all fall over at the slightest of contact and our ****e defending gave the referee a decision to make. Yes, it’s bollocks. But until the rules change they’re there to be made a mockery of.
Mate, if you read back on most of my posts I always try to look on the positive side of things. I love to get behind any player that puts the shirt on. I remember how buzzing me and the son were when Watson scored, was absolutely over the moon for the lad. Today he proved to be the polar opposite of anyone I want to see in a red and white shirt. That's not what I want in the players we have in our dressing room. If he can't give his all while he's still here then **** him
Brighton will have been watching Watson today by the way, or at the very least they’ll watch a rerun. They’ll be deciding what to do with him next season. They won’t have been impressed. I would not be surprised if he doesn’t make a premier league appearance next season. In fact I’d be surprised if he does. He’ll go back to playing the PL2 football he is presumably desperate to get away from .
