These players downed tools and got Walter the sack
The last month looks like they’ve downed tools for selles too

Yes. Unless he's splintered his pancreas playing for the U21s.

He played, I think, a half on Tuesday 8th v Colchester.
Did he follow that up with an appearance in their next (last) game - Monday 14th v Swansea?
Edit: just had a look. No, he didn't!! Unless he was called 'Trialist'?!
    Doesn't look promising!

It is frustrating that watching city is mega boring, and we are massively inconsistent, but suggesting that this is Selles fault is nonsense.

I'm not really sure what more a manager is expected to do in 6 months having taken over team rock bottom of this league.

Staying up will hopefully be a massive achievement, we get some key signing back from injury, Selles will have had 6 months understanding who he wants to work with and we'll then see a style of play.

Teams win and lose that's football.

He wouldn't play as a winger necessarily because you have wing backs pushing up, so it would literally be three front men. You could drop him in behind the other two as a number 10.

Preston tend to mix it up, their striker Osmajic is a fairly big ****er and of course they have Emil Riis Jakobsen, but they're a bit like us, they don't have a set style in terms of long ball/short passing.

In that case chuck him in as no one will have a clue who he is. Probably ignore him thinking he is a fan on the pitch leaving him alone to score.

If Matazo, Millar and Belloumi had stayed fit we wouldn't be anywhere near this mess, to be fair.

But then as City fans, if ifs and buts were scratches and cuts, we'd have bled to death by now.

Walter got himself sacked, he’d lost the support of everyone including the fans. But I do agree the players aren’t showing up for Selles at the moment.

He's been out for so long that it's difficult for him to jump right back in so it would be a huge risk. Not to mention the fact that he probably won't be staying on so he'll want to be fit to find a new club to sit on the bench for.

Pedro gets an easy ride from the fans and I don’t know why, aside from a few nice touches and some enthusiastic running he’s been as poor as anyone else. He’s had 7 goal involvements this year, Kamara, who gets slated every week has 8 and he’s been on the bench for bunch of games.

Pedro has no pace to press and he seems to be sulking (drop him) ... Lets go back to the performance of the season. We started Joseph through the centre and he pressed and harried. Geldhardt left, Kamara right. Crooks Alzate and Slater were the middle.

The Selles started tinkering. pushed Joseph out left where he has been largely ineffective and Geldhart out right where he has been largely ineffective. Its ok thinking Pedros experienced etc, but does it mean jack to him.

I know I'm in a bit of minority, maybe one of one haha. But I think Tim gets a hard wrap, he absolutely had to go due to the silly comments that got him in bother with the fans, and his apparent issues with regards to man management. But the way the team was shaped up to control games and essentially putting it in to our own hands to win was pretty good for me (apart from the weird bypassing the midfield thing). I mean, we were a few Slater goals away from a totally different scenario. I'd of been curious to see what another window would have done and who he would have brought in. :emoticon-0130-devil

I think Selles has done reasonably well for the most part but the last few weeks have felt a little off with team selections etc. I'd hoped we reached a point were we could be a bit more brave in our outlook, especially when playing some of the other struggling sides, hopefully it's not what costs us in the end.

Yep, plenty getting their knickers in a twist about Selles whilst seemingly berating every player on the squad. In the attacking areas we have no quality. Simple as that

I don’t think the players have downed tools, I didn’t get even the feintest whiff of that today. I just they are petrified of relegation, for the club and mainly for their careers.
