Seven goals and nine assists. Is anyone doing better than Snodgrass at the moment? Favourable mentions have to go to Guly Do Prado (7g, 7a) and Rickie Lambert (12g, 7a). please log in to view this image
I think on stats, he is. I think in performances especially recently he is easily the best winger in the league. He is also someone i think we will lose if we dont get promotion this season
He has single handedly won us a few games this year! Not forgetting he wasnt fit for the first id say 10 games
I've always insisted that Snoddy is the best player in the league. Nice to see him proving me right .
Guly Do Prado is a funny one. On his day he is great as the stats back up, but he is far too hit & miss & I dont think he is even a starter for saints when everyones fit! Snod for me but Im bound to be biased
funny how things change. hes on fire now but a month or 2 ago he was gash, birmingham away he was the worst player on the pitch
Not being funny, but surely it's Lambert? 12 goals and 7 assists? Snodgrass is class though and Ken will do well to keep hold of him through January when prem clubs come sniffing (I wouldn't be surprised if we put a bid in, either) Whats his contract status at the moment? How long left etc.
To be fair with the lack of width you have and the money you have as well, I would think your be mad not to table a bid. But the fact is he loves Leeds and although money talks if he is forced to move I think there will be Premiership teams offering him a good deal and Ken accepting. And I think he has another year to run before we need to go through contract negotiations and for the love of god lets hope Bates has revised his contract policy or we haven't got Shaun Harvey brokering the deal or I'll be the first to wish him luck if we dont offer him the money his worth
Lambert wasn't injured for a large chunk of the beginning of the season, and I wonder how many of those 12 goals he's scored came from the penalty spot?
Yeah, the other week he scored a hattrick but only scored one goal from normal play. If Lambert wasn't Southampton penalty taker, or if Southampton wasn't awarded half as many penalties, Ross Mccormack would be top goal scorer.
Oh yeah, i'm not saying he'll come. But he seems a very Nigel Pearson type player, one I very much think he'd like. Yeah fair point. Someone on our board thinks his name has been changed from 'Lambert' to 'Lambert (pen)' due to the BBC live-text But, a goal is a goal
Alan Sheehan seems to think so...."Snodgrass!!! Best player in the champs right now!!!!" http://twitter.com/#!/sheezdogg
I think you're going to have a job holding on to him, I suspect he may be gone in Jan, not because I think he's in any particular hurry to go anywhere, just because I think you'll get a decent offer and he'll want the chance to progress and it will probably lead to a move.
Maybe they'll bid £5m, maybe Snodgrass now thinks they'll stay up and he fancies the Premier League, maybe they'll offer him £35k a week and he feels he can't turn it down, maybe his missus has found a house she likes in Norwich, there are many things that can happen to change a players opinion. I just think the longer he keeps doing well, the more demand will increase and the numbers will increase too, there's a tipping point for every player.
All possible I suppose, I just don't see it happening. There have been plenty of times where he's had interest in him and the chance to leave the club but he's loving it here as much as ever. Six goals in six games, I've just read on the transcript of Bates' weekly radio edict. Plus his contract doesn't expire till the end of next season and he has a record of being patient and relatively loyal. I honestly think he's happy where he is and wants to achieve our promotion for himself rather than jumping ship for Everton or Bolton or whichever other boring not-quite-in-Europe side would want him.
I reckon for his career, it would do him better staying at leeds. So often players move on to become nothing. Anyway, any club that want snoddy would have to offer at least 8m, just going by what ken bates has said that he wouldn't leave leeds for less than 8m. He said that in the summer, you never know, with his good form bates may say he is worth more now
if he leaves we can kiss any chance of promotion goodbye, all those assists and goals are irreplaceable in th eloan and free market
