Sorry to be a killjoy and not a dig at you CJ, but this would be a huge mistake imo. Winning the EL would be incredible but we haven't been at all convincing in it. Tonight was a backs against the wall job which we did and did well, but again we have failed to comfortably despatch an opponent. I can't even remember the last time we beat someone decent with real conviction. Might even be as far back as the City game in November. Winning the EL would simply demonstrate that Ange is the right manager if we don't have aspirations to compete strongly in multiple competitions. The evidence against keeping him on is overwhelming by this point. Let's beware of emotion and sentimentality in guiding that decision, in case we make the same mistake United did with Ten Hag.
Sacking him after winning the cup would be the best thing for all parties involved. Ange walks away with his head held high. Levy lives to see another season. Players we want to keep are more likely to stay with CL football on offer. And transfer targets are similarly more likely to join.
