Would be interesting to see Udogie and Spence working together I do feel for Tel though: 19 yr old airlifted mid-season into a complete mess of a club. I think there must be a player in there, but doesn't really stand any chance of success.
Looks like we're hoping to channel some of that green kit in a European away second leg energy please log in to view this image
Sonny's absence is an odd one for me. Not the fact that he's injured and cannot play, but that as club captain he's not even travelled the short distance to Frankfurt for our season-defining game.
I was saying the same thing to my son earlier in an exchange of messages. I think it's a bit weird, unless the "injury" is a lot worse than being discussed ..
Maybe he will travel with Levy today, having had treatment before leaving, I guess we will only know at kick off time.
Off to a great start with the definitely not performative kvetching that Sonny didn't travel for the match, with Daily Hotspur leading the charge...before deleting the tweet Because apparently it doesn't matter if a player is injured, they should travel to away games in a different country now...
Particularly for the alleged 'big names' who have failed dismally to perform to the required standards consistently this season... Despite their relatively lofty position in the Bundesligue, this is a squad that should beat Frankfurt even on their own patch. But right now 'should' and 'will' appear miles apart.
Sorry....do you not think that the club captain should travel the short distance to Germany to support his teammates as the most experienced international player at the club? He has a minor foot injury by all accounts and it's not like he will be travelling EasyJet and local buses to the ground!
The simple answer to that is whether Daily Hotspur was just as angrily demanding every other injured player over the past ten years travel to matches regardless of how injured they are And the answer to that is about as surprising as the winner of a Mar A Lago golf tournament
Tell me when this has occurred with such a significant player under these circumstances and I might back down. If he's unfit to travel then fine - the club should make that clear. But that's not how it's been comms'd. Just another example of confused thinking by the management I'm afraid.
Fully agree. And further proof as if any more was needed that he probably isn't the right choice as captain.
Ally Gold has commented on the Son situation. Reading between the lines, it does sound like the injury is worse than the club is letting on.
Harsh on Son. He might not be able to walk properly so travelling makes little sense. As big a game as it is. It’s still only the last 8 and not a final.
I doubt the decision to travel or not would be left to the player. I hope the club decided he was better off in London.
