Good Morning. It's Thursday 17th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Farke praises squads focus after crucial Preston win Daniel Farke has highlighted the focused mentality of his Leeds United squad following their vital victory against Preston last weekend. The win, coupled with Sheffield United's recent implosion, saw Leeds move five points clear of the play-off places, intensifying the promotion push at Elland Road. Despite the significance of the result and the electric atmosphere that enveloped the stadium, Farke observed a lack of excessive celebration within his team. Speaking ahead of their upcoming clash with Oxford United, Farke noted the squad's immediate shift in focus. "I got the feeling already on Sunday in training everyone was focused on Oxford," he revealed. This professional attitude pleased the Leeds boss, who understands the importance of remaining grounded amidst the excitement. While acknowledging the special atmosphere surrounding the Preston game, particularly in the minutes following the final whistle, Farke emphasized the need to maintain concentration and avoid complacency. He hopes for a similar display of unity and passion from the Elland Road faithful when Stoke City visit on Easter Monday for Leeds' penultimate home game of the season. Farke believes the fans can play a crucial role in creating a formidable atmosphere that propels the team forward. "It's one of these another magic days at Elland Road when you could really sense a special atmosphere and this is when we have such a unity and when it comes down to the wire that it's more or less like: 'Right now we have to stick together because we can achieve something special'," Farke explained. He believes that Elland Road, when buzzing, is a unique and powerful force. "This place can be like no other place, not just in this league but also in this country. It was a really special atmosphere [at full-time against Preston] and hopefully we can create the same for Monday." Farke's comments highlight the importance of mental fortitude and fan support as the Whites navigate the crucial final furlongs. please log in to view this image Leeds agree £7.7m Kristensen move to Eintracht Frankfurt Leeds United and Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of wantaway defender Rasmus Kristensen. The deal, worth up to £7.7 million, will be finalized when the summer transfer window officially opens. Kristensen, who initially joined Leeds from RB Salzburg, spent the previous season on loan at AS Roma. While he featured regularly for the Serie A side, the move was not made permanent, leaving his future uncertain. However, a return to Elland Road was unlikely given Leeds' drop to the Championship. Eintracht Frankfurt presented him with an opportunity to remain in a top European league and compete on the European stage. Dino Toppmöller's side have been actively seeking to bolster their defensive ranks, and Kristensen's experience and versatility made him a prime target. The transfer makes sense for both sides representing a strategic acquisition for Eintracht Frankfurt, adding depth and experience to their defensive lineup. For Leeds United, the sale of Kristensen contributes to their financial restructuring following their recent relegation. Eintracht Frankfurt presented a compelling option for the defender, The Bundesliga club has been actively seeking to bolster their defensive ranks, and Kristensen's experience and versatility made him a prime target. The agreed-upon package for the transfer is reportedly worth up to £7.7 million. This figure represents a significant recoupment of the fee Leeds initially paid for the player, considering their current Championship status and the player's loan spell away from the club. It also provides Leeds with crucial financial flexibility as they rebuild their squad for a promotion push. Kristensen's move to Frankfurt marks a new chapter in his career. His aggressive playing style and attacking contributions from the right-back position should be a valuable asset for the German side. He will be eager to secure a regular starting spot and contribute to Frankfurt's ambitions in both domestic and European competitions. please log in to view this image AI Predicts Championship Glory for Leeds United According to the sophisticated Twitter Chatbot 'Grok', the Championship title is destined for Elland Road this season, with the Whites poised to clinch the league with a commanding 98 points. Morning all. If Groks says it's done that's good enough for me. Not gonna travel over Monday week. No point now we know the outcome. Maybe ask Grok how many points well get next season 20, 25 or maybe even 30
Morning all Good news on Rasmus, that's one less distraction to deal with no matter what division we are in next season, that just leaves Harrison. I did read on Rasmus that we will have made a small profit where FFP comes into it, probably down to the two years we didn't have to pay his wages and how much you are allowed to lose each year as the contract winds down. I've really enjoyed the last few days, sitting top and watching the turmoil at Sheffield Utd, I'm not convinced I want tomorrows game to come around too quickly, what could possibly go wrong
Morning. Burnt me tummy yesterday. Kristensen is a ****. Glad he's gone. Hopefully he has to come back to ER as an opposing player one day and get the reception he deserves. Hopefully Wober goes next. Atmosphere at ER has taken some criticism at times. It's been poor on a few occasions when it has that feel that a win is expected. I always say it's like playing a non-league club in an early round of a cup, that kind of vibe to it. However, against the bigger sides in the league the atmosphere has been good. Sheff Utd at home was particularly loud on a Friday night. AI doesn't take in to account of the emotional side of the game. We won't get 98 points. I think we could get a nervy win or draw at Oxford tomorrow, followed by a win vs Stoke on Monday. I think Bristol will frustrate us to a draw and it's a shootout against Plymouth in a very tight game.
we have turned the corner and had our bad spell, I think we shall do the last four in convincing fashion, well that’s what I’m hoping for. Now that’s out of the way Emu what about our run in, three horse race it don’t get much better than that, does anyone fancy a side bet
Morning all. Have I missed a year or did I dream last season’s playoff final defeat if the sale of Rasmus will help our promotion “at the first attempt” or is Ell predicting relegation and promotion for the next two seasons if successful this time?
I was expecting you to say now that we’ve found form again someone was in for a right thrashing given the chances we missed against Preston (given the new found positivity on this forum).
There’s still time for twists and turns. This is Leeds after all. You have to think the blunts will beat Cardiff. While Oxford away is another banana skin for us. Could be back to two points and everyone pooping themselves again. Meanwhile, Burnley have some tricky fixtures to finish the season off. It would be lovely to see them have a late season Devon lock moment.
True. Will happily take an ugly 1-0 win at Oxford (though for once I’d like our superior points gap reflect in an easy win). Think a win here could just about push us over the line with the two below still to play each other, which is why I’m expecting a nervy performance.
I'm always up for a bet. I think we'll go up automatically. I think Burnley probably top the league though.
The perfect scenario really is Burnley lose at Watford, Cardiff beat Sheff Utd and we win at Oxford. That would leave us at... Leeds 91 pts Burnley 88 pts Sheff Utd 83 pts. Then we beat Stoke on Monday and Sheff Utd beat Burnley which would leave us.... Leeds 94 pts Burnley 88 pts Sheff Utd 86 pts With two games to go. We can sit back with a beer and watch Sheff Utd and Burnley fight it out.
we definitely looked sharper than recent performances against Preston - whether that’s a corner turned or not I’m not sure. Still think tanaka is cooked and our midfield isn’t firing. Think Burnley will drop points, though. If my life depended on it I’d bet on us to top the league.
The icing on the cake of celebration would be whichever of them doesn’t get autos Losing in the play off final… to a last minute offside deflection.
If we cant get 7 pts from 12 remaining from our 4 remaining games we dont deserve to go up simple as that. I dont give a monkeys hoot about winning the league its all about promotion. some people saying i hope Burnley v Blunts Draw i personally hope Burnley put 6 past them as its one less win for us to find. Winning the league is a extra bonus as 1st and 2nd are the same prize.
Well back on 4 August last year, I said we would win the championship with 95 points. 7 points should also secure us promotion, so I'm hoping we do it the easy way, as opposed to the 1 point out of 6 from the Easter fixtures, meaning 2 wins from our last 2 games. Prediction wise though, I have us drawing 1-1 with Oxford tomorrow, with wins for us in the final 3 games, 1-0 win against Stoke, 2-1 against Bristol City, finishing with a 2-0 away win at Plymouth
