Yeah, booked my hotel for the same nights and looked at Ryanair round trips from Edinburgh to Stansted.

It's so cheap I'm wondering if I should just book it ...

... I could have a weekend in London if all else fails, would that be weird?

    Edinburgh - London £49

    Fri, May 23 6:40 AM – 8:05 AM
    Sun, May 25 3:55 PM – 5:15 PM

Well I’ll certainly be doing my best to find tickets for me, Mrs K and Able Seaman K plus flights plus accommodation if we get there.

Would probably be cheaper getting the train up to Edinburgh and then flying down than it would be getting the train from the north east. Mental.

It's funny because I can use my OAP bus pass to go to the airport for nothing, so no parking fees or whatever <laugh>

    I'm in, Smug!

I booked flights right after the Norwich game, for the semi-final second leg, for my son from Turin and for me from Venice.

I know your kids weren't brought up in the north east. Mine has never even lived in England. But - proud dad moment - he was the most insistent we get our act together.

I'm glad he's been brought up right!

In fact he'd found a €49 return flight to Cyprus and was supposed to be leaving on 31st March, but then told me he had decided to lose that money. Why? Because he didn't have an unlimited amount of money or holidays, and preferred to see us in the play-offs.

    Good lad!

We are a team that us progressing very well (maybe not as fast as some who require instant gratification would like) and seem to be building something lasting and special.
There is nothing to fear from the playoffs for me, if we go up we deal with that, if we do not we deal with that.
The club is so well structured these days that I don't worry too much about things behind the scenes. What worries me most is the fans reactions when we play at home. We should be bouncing at home this season but it seems that everybody is always waiting for something to happen or a big occasion to come around to really fire the team on. I remember when we just got fired up because it was match day, think we need a bit more of that enthusiasm back. We need to find that roar again, the raw emotion of match day, the vibrant energy of a love for your team, the encapsulating commitment of support no matter what.
    We are Sunderland.
    Sunderland till I die
    Keep the faith
I can't help falling in love with you.
We will win the play offs because our fans will drag this team kicking and screaming over the line, because that is what we do. They will see the queues around the ticket office and hear the chants in the ground. They will know and understand what it means.
The one thing I have noticed all season us how the team reacts when the fans raise it up, they move the ball quicker, they are more committed in challenges and they raise the game to a different level. It is the fans who do that we drive them on we give them the adrenaline rush , which is why I totally believe we win promotion. Because our fans when up for it are the best in the land and we as a fan base know we have time to get ready to help RLB and the boys.

We've booked the hotel up in Borehamwood and we've looked at trains for that weekend for 5 of us and it would cost about £450! The step daughter is thinking about us going down that weekend no matter what - must admit I'm sorely tempted!

It’s Oxford Circus and next to the Tubes …

… big area outside, loads of stuff next to it and the food is good.

My flight, from Edinburgh, is £49 return, train from Newcastle to the airport would cost about £20 return.
