I get the impression that the takeover is set for lift off this summer if top 5 is achieved. The foundations are in, the world has seen the club winning big games, and win a trophy, so top players will be looking thinking I'll go there for sure.

Mate just asked me an interesting question - would you take no incoming transfers this summer to get contract extensions sorted for Isak, Tonali, Bruno? Said no initially as a) think they all have years remaining so we aren’t in trouble there b) I think we can replace them all with the fees we will bring in for them - all worth 100m (maybe just shy for Bruno) imo. But got me thinking and actually if we can sign them up we have a decent squad for next season - still don’t think I would but it’s an interesting proposition!
All 3 still have another 3 years, so I think we are OK there. I'd be happier with new signings for now. 1. We'll need a stronger squad for European action next season. 2. Some of our squad need offloading. 3. The best way to secure future contract extensions is to keep moving forward and adding quality to the squad. Standing still with the squad will send the wrong signals to the top players and set a bad precedent. Just my view.
