<ok> You should enjoy 'The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady', 'Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus' and 'Blues & Roots' if you like the clearly enormous influence his work had on Kid A & Amnesiac.

In Rainbows? Or Hail To The Theif? Either are good albums, IR being the more easy listening one.

Indeed it is, that album is the outcome of the sessions they did to create Kid A <ok>

Venetian Snares' album "Rossz Csillag Alatt Szueletett" is all great really. Mixes sampled string quartet fragments with some great breaks. I'd say go for the album.
The track I posted there samples 'Gloomy Sunday' which is a great old song that is, interestingly, fabled to have caused people to kill themselves after listening to it <laugh>. The rest of the album samples some of my favourite 20thC composers from Bartok to Prokofeiv so it's a winner really.

Can't think of a live performance which so massively beats the studio moreso than this.

Great stuff, I'm a huge fan of Mingus. I don't like using the word Genius but when it comes to him there are few better words to use; he seemed to be able to pull incredible ideas out of nowhere.
