He has 9 in 23 for Juárez. Joseph has 0 in 13 for us, 8 in 29 for Blackpool this season and 2 in 37 for Blackpool last season. Joseph has had 12 shots for us and no goals. He hasn’t got any assists either. I want him to do well but this just looks like another massive waste of money down the pan.
He's averaged a goal every 3 games across his career, decent rate I'd say. Id snap your hands off for his 13 goals this season scored across a purple patch and some pens and I guessing the gaffer would as well.
All of our strikers this season, barring an ageing Pedro, have been utter crap. I don’t see Joseph or Burstow ever being good enough for this level. We get promised a proven striker every transfer window that we won’t scrimp on by the chubby-faced Turk and it’s all piss and wind. I’m honestly glad he’s not been turning up to games recently and hasn’t done a silly Q&A for a while. The less I hear of him, the better.
The Oscar situation last summer was strange. He seemed a perfect fit for what Walter wanted from his strikers and I was quite excited about bringing him back to play in that style. But then we seemed happy to let him leave again as soon as the season started even though we had very little else in that position. I suppose he maybe didn't want to be here but it didn't seem well handled on the whole. Mind you, Selles probably wouldn't have wanted him in the long term anyway as he wants forwards to press, similar to Rosenior. As someone else said he'd certainly have been better to have around than Bedia though.
How does he score pens that we aren't winning? It's not as if our players are missing a bunch of pens.. I know you've now latched on to my comments and repeating them to undermine their point, but he scored the bulk of his goals in a two month block where he himself admitted to being surprised at how well he was doing. What is that if not a purple patch? EDIT: It wasn't even a two month block, he scored seven goals in four games. I think he could definitely have scored nearly the same as Pedro this season (maybe 7-8 goals) but it's either or with them, you aren't getting Pedro AND Oscar's goals. So it's not really much of a discussion.
Slow, disjointed going forward, coyles that bad I’m starting to feel sorry for him. We got a bit of look with our goal for a change, otherwise it’s painful to watch us trying to score. We look like a l2 team going forward, still a decent point. A point at Swansea and I think the Preston is a MUST win game Hopefully millar and belloumi come back ok because we need pace in this team
a fully fit millar, belloumi, barry and matazo make us look a completely different team i dont know what lincoln was like pre acl, but i hope he wasnt a fast tricky player, as he's very slow now, he's great at picking a pass out i hope hes not this slow due to his acl injury i do think both fullbacks are crucial areas for the summer though
Don't think we see a fully fit Millar or Belloumi much before the end of the calendar year. IF we stay up and IF we are around mid-table next Xmas, those two returning would be a proper boost for the 2nd half of next season
Didn't BC reckon Selles prefers a smaller squad - 25 or 26 players? That suggests more might go than come. I think Millar and Belloiumi will be out longer than next August - maybe see them end of October or so?
I don't understand why people like to come up with their own guesses regarding injury return dates. The information from Selles is that Millar and Belloumi are expected back late in pre-season, I'd go with what he says.
A lot of luck with the Kamara goal, if he hadn't got the deflection it wouldnt have been a shot on target or a cross to someone else.
Where do you get that from? I’d expect them to be back at some point in pre season going by when they got injured and how long typical ACL comebacks take these days. They would both have to have a lot of complications to be out until the end of the calendar year.
yea theres the goal saving touch egan made i was on about clear tap in if he doesnt do that, and he does it without doing an own goal masterful
If we add up all the cash we have wasted on goalkeepers we don't need, no 10's we (allegedly) don't play, defenders who can't defend, midfielders who don't create or score, "ones for the future" who clearly aren't and alleged strikers who can't score in a brothel, then we clearly do have sufficient funds to buy some decent players. Whether they would come is a different argument.
