It's when When he starts he seems to give the opposition one gift from a wayward infield ball per game
https://www.11v11.com/teams/swansea-city/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Hull City/ premier league began August 92 which is when Division 4 became Division 3, but we’ve played them a few times in the third level. Most memorable for me was at home October 1984 when Colin Appleton came back to BP as Swans manager after resigning as our manager after that night at Burnley and we thrashed them 4-1.
I'm sure i remember it was the Premiership before Premier League and changed to Pemier League when the Championship was created or was that just marketing
When the Premier League was created the three divisions below were one, two and three. In 2004 these were rebranded as Championship, League One, and League Two, but the Premier League has always been just that.
The Premier League was formed in 1992 and has always been that, some call it The Premiership or EPL. But my original post was regarding City v Swansea in the third tier of English football. The third tier was originally division three and became known as Division Two when the Premier League was formed, and then became League One when the EFL rebranded the leagues in 2004.
Not disputing your original point and sorry to be a pedant, but from the PL website: Between 1993 and 2016, each season of the Premier League had a title sponsor. From the 1993/94 season, it was known as the FA Carling Premiership, before the sponsorship changed in 2001 to Barclaycard until 2004. The title of the competition then changed to the FA Barclays Premiership. It became the Barclays Premier League from the 2007/08 campaign. https://www.premierleague.com/news/59001
What the Premier League was called at varying stages of its life is totally irrelevant to City vs Swansea games in the third tier of English football! Ffs I wish I’d never said anything.
Bit early to post, I'll admit, but some interesting games on Friday: Derby vs Luton 12.30ko Middlesbro vs Plymouth Norwich vs Portsmouth Stoke vs Sheff Wed Sheff Utd vs Cardiff 5.30 ko Oxford vs Leeds 8pm ko Could (cough) be a very pivotal day.
Indeed, although some won't know what you mean, others remember it as a day of infamy, and I don't mean Kenneth William. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I often struggle to watch a game that I have no interest in the winner but that's a whole day of football to watch
I was also at the May 1999 one at The Vetch, where they had to win to be sure of making the play-offs. Kick off delayed for around forty minutes, ensuring they knew what they had to do, gits absolute gits. Luckily I was near the top of the terracing, thus avoiding the pool balls, coins, and rubble coming in our direction. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
