I think “Smash the gangs” is a slogan. Trying to deal with the gangs at source to me sounds difficult, but there is no easy answer. I honestly don’t know how to deal with the issue, my guess is it will have to be a multi facited approach of which this will be one element, but not a “silver bullet”.

I do think the issue will need an across Europe approach rather than just trying to “act tough with the French”. Again that approach seems, to me at least, to be a gimmick.

That's Starmers Labour trouble, they lie, break their words, do u-turns, make false promises, take freebies and gifts, meanwhile cut welfare, deny winter fuel payements and fiddle the farmers via inheritance tax, the last lot were mad, this lot are criminally insane and a bunch of shysters.

My post was purely about illegals, I try to keep out of it these days too. I’ve more important things to do than argue on a football forum about politics.

When I tried to reign in previously I was accused of not answering, or avoiding the issue. For the record I don’t agree with much of what Labour has done, and I’ve said so, so I’m not keeping my head down.

This is however supposed to be a football forum for fans of our beloved Bristol City and it’s the reason I come on here. I consider many on here online friends and on that basis on occasions I’m happy to discuss politics, but not If it starts to get heavy of confrontational. There really are more important things in life.

2 tier granny Harmer launch's the local election "hustings" along with deputy "duh".............

Speaking to a crowd of activists at the same event, Deputy Leader Angela Rayner said Conservative councils had "let public services crumble".
She added: "That is why we need great Labour mayors, leaders and councillors delivering the change across our great towns, cities and counties, so that we can transform the lives of people at a local level."
WHERE IS THE AMOEBA USUALLY FOUND ? could it be in the brain of non descipts that knoweth not what they say or have a clue to what is actually happening....

wellyesterday she blamed the TORIES FOR THE BIN PROBLEMS in Birmingham ... not the council that [ like majority of councils overspend and waste money] ..THE EX .GOV for not bailing out the overspending and wasteful Labour run council.............. today she says the above ... does that mean she wants more cities to have bin problems labour councils going into debt and more mayors like rip off Narv..... who wasted a massive £??, 000,000's in failed projects in Bristol!!!!!!

There's always bin and rat chaos when Labour are in government.

I'll bet arch remoaners R&W and Starmer are glad we left the inept EU, I'm not talking how far in front were with the Covid vaccine, but now we have HALF the tariffs imposed by Donald.
Doubt if Starmer might comment, but await R&W's grateful thanks to folk like yours truly.

    And me
If only the Tories had enforced Brexit better, we might all be better off, and they might still be in power and with a better trade deal than 10%

Angelic, the Tories had no chance with Starmer leading the remoaners, the lawyers and pulling all sorts of stunts in the house of Lords.
So ironic that Brexit has come to his rescue.........nothing to do with Starmer having a decent relationship with Trump........although Starmer's BBC is trying to making out otherwise.

A car park operator that demanded £11,390 in parking charges from a driver has lost a court case and been ordered to pay thousands in costs.
Excel Parking, which has been criticised for charging drivers £100 if they took more than five minutes to pay at a car park in Derby, has been doing the same in Darlington.
Hannah Robinson, 21, was among those to be caught out and received hundreds of letters demanding money, as well as repeated phone calls.
Excel Parking eventually took her to court for some of the parking charge notices (PCNs), but a judge has now dismissed the claim and told the firm to pay £10,240.10 in costs to charity
    .

I think I have posted on here that I recieved something like 5 or 6 such notice type letters reference Motorways / hospital / carpark and never paid a thing and that the most I can remember the max was about <£300 £290 ?
As a courier for a legal [ more than one ] I often frequented the chambers of QC's in the areas of London where they congregate! and whilst the advice given from them [ all different things ] was "if it was me" answers. Or in one case it was .........."there was a case where ??company took someone to court who was a solicitor!!!!!!! he of course beat all hands tdown he pretend solicitor, and set a precident"

LETS HOPE THAT the company Excel now has to repay £000's of ££££'s ............

    achievement and a scam!
just dropped my xyl off at the BRI ... FROM MY HOUSE TO CHILDRENS HOSPITAL ENTRANCE AT ONE TIME used to take 20 mins [ between 9am and 2pm ] they then changed the speed limit which slowed the journey [ due to less traffic negotiating traffic lights etc ] to around 35 minutes.
THE POLLUTION AREA has supposed to have reduced traffic ............ WELL today at 11 00 am I made the same journey getting there and back took me 1 hour 25 minutes...total chaos with traffic directional changes and routes once working 2 way now one way with additional mileage to make turns and longer stop times to exit junctions [ whether light controlled or not ].

my average miles per gallon indicator dropped .7 mpg by time I got home .. ..

Pollution level cannot be any improvement? as vehicles are mainly stopped or doing much lower gear travelling ... a con ? .... a scam? .............. and a knighthood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cutting down of an ancient oak tree in north London is being investigated by the police.
The remains of the oak, estimated to be up to 500 years old, were discovered by council workers last week in Whitewebbs Park, Enfield. An emergency tree preservation order has now been imposed on the base of its stump.
The tree, with a girth of 6.1m (20ft), was a nationally significant pedunculate oak and listed on the Woodland Trust's national ancient tree inventory.

there are a number of tree's in our "quarter of Bristol, Whitchurch/ Brislington/ "Stockwood " that are of similar age, during Covid I logged them all and measured them according to measurements the oldest was likely 460 years old some show on a map of 1710
we need to preserve such gems! they are home to dozens of species of creatures and provide cover for many flora and fauna...........

The huge Yew tree in St Nicholas church in Whitchurch is beautiful and ancient.

    Not sure about that John

St Nicholas itself dates from about 1100 but I’ve no idea how long the tree has been there, but Yew trees are synonymous with churches and particularly churchyards
