Maybe he wasn't up to it last season especially while pushing for the play offs. We all saw how bad he was preseason I don't get this necessity by a few to constantly try and criticise Rosenior. You got your way he's gone - move on
Agree re. Lincoln. Don't get the glowing comments from some. I'm not seeing it. Pedro was making runs all night long. The service to him was next to non existent. Gelhardt had a very good game, but you could see he was getting more and more frustrated as the game went on, and ended up trying to do far too much himself. Studying Bowen is a good shout. Amrabat in his cameo showed up nicely how we lack someone capable of seeing and making creative passes. Can't see him managing a full game though, but maybe having Puerta back in will help improve the service. Slater simply lacks any quality. Coyle copping some stick. Can't fault him for effort. He should have buried that chance, but on the other hand credit to him for time and again popping up down the wing, in the box, all over. Brave decision taking him off for the last 10 or so, thankfully it worked out. Maybe controversial, but I thought Kamara got very lucky (thankfully). To me he once again looked like a boy lost most of the time and lacking confidence, and then with his shot, I heard it described by a summariser as "lacking any conviction" which is exactly how I saw it. Thankfully it took the deflection and went in. Without the deflection it wasn't a goal and the narrative around him would be quite different. I don't get why we aren't seeing Burstow. Must be so poor in training? Someone said Panda's saves were all routine! Only looked routine because he made them look routine. Superb handling, positioning, anticipation. We have to somehow find more creativity, directness and more importantly our 'scoring boots' these next 4.
I mentioned that about Pandur. Never looked at full stretch bar the Simms 1 on 1 but down to excellent positioning. His anticipation is also absolutely excellent, predicts where they’ll shoot.
You have absolutely no way of knowing that- for a start we'd have been ****ing about a lot more at the back, making mistakes, giving the ball away unnecessarily, breaking up our own attacks to pass back to the keeper- winning free kicks outside the opposition penalty area only to have them worked back to our keeper- last season we had a number of premier league players in the squad but fell short because we messed up - this season we don't have the same level of players so who knows where we would be in the league but we wouldn't be significantly diffrrent from where we are now - I lived Rosie but Rosieball was a pile of pish and ultimately cost a bunch of talented players a place in the play offs
Just had a glance at Coventry's transfer spending over the past couple of seasons... Haji Wright - €9m Ellis Simms - £3.5m (+£1.5m add-on's + additional £3m if promoted) Tatsuhiro Sakamoto - €2.3m Bobby Thomas - £2m Milan van Ewijk - £3.4m Liam Kitching - £4.5m Victor Torp - £2m Ephron Mason-Clark - £5m Louis Binks €2m (+€2m add-on if promoted) Jack Rudoni £6m (+ add-on's) Oliver Dovin €1.9m Brandon Thomas-Asante £2.25m Norman Bassette £2.5m Matt Grimes £4m Obviously helped by selling Viktor Gyökeres for €20m + €4m add-on's and Gus Hamer for £15m.
what premier league players? we would be mid table at a minimum, same as if selles was here instead of the clown
Selles has got us something like 30 points from 23 games? Over a season that would give us 60 points and a mid table finish. I expect us to be in that area next season unless we sign a midfield general and a couple of goal scorers.
A big rebuild is the last thing we need and constantly doing a big rebuild is one of the reasons we're in the position we are. We need our top players back from injury and a small selection of additions in key areas
New full backs on both sides - a striker and a replacement for Puerta and Barry if they aren’t here should do us. 5 signings minimum for me
Wonders? Depends on your definition But him and selles and any good manager would not have had us close to the relegation zone We had some immense wingers
Quite something. I feel like dullness and threat of relegation still looming is distracting from how good of a job Selles has done. You could argue he's failed to adapt at times but whatever happens it won't affect his personal stock. I know we keeping barking on about it but we also lost are big two January signings just as they were getting going. I'm confident Matazo and Barry would have helped us to a few more points across the last chunk of games. For the love of good I hope we've made progressed with a couple of striker targets and are ready to pull the trigger once we know what league we're in.
