Howe's overseen an incredible turnaround, I am utterly (and happily) wrong, but at the time was genuinely concerned that we'd reached the end of the road with him, things were flat, listless, repetitive. Was "Howe out" too much, too soon? Clearly, in hindsight and it looks like whatever he's doing behind closed doors is absolutely right hence the comments from Eales not long ago. So for me he has earned the right to carry on regardless!

On RA - I can't see the logic. Yes, you can have a "system", but when it doesn't work and you don't have any of the required players, nor any money, you have to adapt. What would be even stupider - and Man U's bar is set pretty ****ing low - is to invest a tonne more money they just don't have to accommodate a 3-4-3 that probably won't work. What then? The next manager has a different "system" and needs to reset the players?!!

Whilst the squad is pisspoor, all they need to do to instantly improve is move to a 4-1-4-1, stop being an elephants graveyard, play some of the youth and buy two or three reliably good players, instead of these random punts. I'd be shot of Casemiro, Onana, Eriksen, Martinez, Dalot, Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho, Shaw, Lindelof as an absolute minimum. They can make a decent bit of coin from all that. Even if they binned all that off, and given they can get a decent 'keeper (hate to say it, but Trafford would be ideal), without a single purchase they could have a back four of Mazraoui, De Ligt, Heaven, Dorgu, Ugarte at CDM, Mainoo and Fernandes in the middle, Amad wide right, Amass wide left and Hojlund up top. That alone is a top half team, and in all likelihood they could improve left mid and up front.

But who cares? Amorim IN, I say. Long may their catastrophe's continue.

The point was always that Amorim hasn't had any backing yet and that the outcome of his work is unknown until then. it was yourself that started going down other rabbit holes.

Anyway this situation is very simple

    You have written him off.

I haven't written him off because I've seen some improvements and he's had no money yet to make a significant difference.

We can argue all day but it's really that simple and only time will provide the answer.

Right now I've written him off, yes.

If he's given time to turn it around I'd be surprised, but if wins the Europa he's probably earned it. If he does this and turns it around next season, I'd be surprised.

I think on this one you're wrong, but only time will tell. He's far too rigid and one dimensional. Teams know exactly how they'll play, there's no variety and his team selections have been weird. As I said above, he could easily make that team top 10 if he had a clue.

We're fourth with Murphy, Schar, Pope and Barnes. He's got plenty. He (and Ange, for that matter) just aren't very good.

We've also got Livramento, Botman, Hall, Guimareas, Tonali, Gordon, Barnes and Isak.

All bought after Howe took over.

Ange has had time and money.

Turning it around then, why do think Amorim will improve them?

He's falling out with players who would be very useful to them right now (Rashford), overseeing not great signings (Dorgu), and the standards everywhere have dropped. When a manager comes out any says it's the worst Man U team of all time after he's only been there a few months, don't you think he's lost it a bit?

I think I've already seen improvements defensively and once he gets some better players they'll improve.

Football is mostly about money and the managers and coaches can't turn water into wine.

I'm going down a rabbit hole now, but I think there's far too much importance and emphasis put on the managers these days, but they definitely need some signings if they're taking over a struggling club, and time to address other issues in the dressing room.

BTW you might be right in the end, but I'm not ruling out either possibllity and I'm simply waiting for what I see as fair judgement.

He has elements of Souness and Carver with us tbh, with the way he's fallen out with the players and started to lose the plot with stupid interviews.

A case of Man U going with the young and cool manager like Chelsea with AVB, but before this all Amorim's experience was in Portugal, and it looks like he can't handle the Prem.

I also think he's a nice bloke and feel sorry for any manager taking over that club.

He is, but he needs to reign his ego in a bit, ie the worst team of all time stuff....he has to own the results he gets, otherwise he'll develop some Mourinho god complex. AVB was never the manager Chelsea expected, but he did ok after, Amorim might ruin himself if he keeps doing that kind of thing.

This is what I'm saying because when a work is in progress it's the outcome that is judged.

You can't judge a painting until it's complete and he's literally taken over from Stevie wonder and not been given any new equipment.

Amorim is not an elite manager. He’s had a couple of good seasons in a poor league.

Hes doing what a lot of managers do when they come to a club under achieving and that’s blame everyone else.

He hasn’t even tried to play to the current squads strengths and is insisting that the players play his way.

Thats an ignorant manager who isn’t a good one.

I could take over Carlisle United and say I want to play Tika taka football.

But is that club going to spend 509m to make sure I have the players I want.

    **** no are they.

I LOVE the pain the manu fans are going through now and it’s not going to stop.

They are 13th still. And have a worse GD.

There Re simply no improvements since ETH. None whatsoever.

    They are woeful.

Absolute bollocks that RA is a good manager either because the clue is in the title. MANAGER.

Not wait till I spend 200m before judging me as a manager.

Look at wolves or Everton for examples of managers who have taken a group of players who were woeful and have achieved.

    This manager is a fraud.

You don't have the outcome to be able to make such a claim. He's building a new style of play, the club will bring in players and then you'll be able to judge.

He's MANAGING the situation which wasn't MANAGED well for years before he came in.

It's not always simply the MANAGER that needed replacing to fix a problem, so you can always point at other examples, and draw the wrong conclusion.

Many people have acknowledged improvements defensively and he's been getting rid of all the bad eggs.

He obviously isn't working in the Premier league (the best league in the world right now), but he worked in the Portuguese league, and may still work in another league. Just needs to keep his **** together .
