He already has a billion pound squad.
We had a raggy dolls bin squad

We've all at times said about having a plan B when it doesn't work so what happens when it's every game it doesn't work?

    Money wasted for years prior.

He's following a longer term plan and that's what I'm getting at.

To be fair though, they have spend £225m since the RatCliff took over and the majority of that has been on defenders.

Mazouri, De Light, Yoro, Dorgu and Urgarte are all defensive minded players and should all be perfect fits for Amormins style of play but they can't keep clean sheets and its really down to him to figure out how to get the best out of them. Zirkzee is the exception in that he's more attack minded but to sure he is being utilized properly either tbh.

He’s won 4/15 Pl games recently.

This is Manu we are talking about not some bottom feeder club.

    Hes doing a terrible job.

Can we just put this into perspective - Howe inherited a squad bottom of the league and in a mess, Amorim inherited a squad who finished 8th and had just won the FA Cup.

Howe immediately started improving the way we play, and I'm terms of new players, only Burn and Wood were initially introduced (Trippier got injured early on and Bruno was gradually phased in).

As well as alienating one of their best players in Rashford, Amorim has every other player playing much worse than they were previously. They haven't been improving at all, they're getting worse consistently.

They've taken a gamble on a young suave European manager, and it's backfired.

    Finished 8th?

That's like saying Howe inherited a squad that finished 13th.

Ultimately Newcastle's significant improvement kicked in only after a big spend and that's the bottom line. Amorin hasn't had that yet has he?

They have improved defensively, taking yesterday out the equation, and if we're honest, Yesterday wasn't their main focus this week.

Kind of mate, but Amorim supposedly took on the biggest club in world football. Whether or not he has personally had money to create his own squad yet, the value of the one he took on is immense.

Transfermarkt values their squad at €835, third only to Man City & Chelsea. Ours is valued at €600m.

So he's had an absolutely shocking tenure so far.

That said, I do get that most of Manure's signings have been way over priced and very poor judgement in terms of what the club actually needed. And that isn't Amorim's fault.

Bottom line is, Ten Hag took over a club that was already rotting and made it even worse. Ratcliffe has also sucked the life out of it. So Amorim was always going to struggle to create an instant turnaround. But I don't think anyone expected them to be really quite so ****e as they have been this season. And at large part of that has to go to the manager - just as many fans were onto Howe's back last season and earlier this season.

They've bought loads of **** players at high prices which really isn't his fault and again until he's had money judgement should wait.

Nothing changed at Newcastle without this takeover and hundreds of millions. That's how much It costs to stop a ship sinking.

Managers get far too much smoke blown up their arses anyway imo, but really it's not the time to judge until the club's backed them for at least one window.

Even Fergie would never have had his Man U success in the modern era. He wouldn't have been afforded the time before being booted. It was his fourth season before winning a cup and seven seasons to win the league title.

That wouldn't be allowed now. Football is too ruthless. Managers aren't allowed to build long term success unless some of it is instant as well.

Just imagine if Fergie had been booted after 3 years of no silverware, like modern day managers.

I think the club being patient and allowing Howe to build a long term strategy is what might make us different, like Fergie back when Man U were on the up.

Not saying Howe won't be replaced one day, but I really hate it when fans of any club want to chop and change thwir managers every 5 minutes. There is no continuity or growth. Just short sightedness.

Same with Amorim I guess. They should give him a couple of full seasons at least, to see if he can rebuild them. But chances are Sir Jim Ratface will fire him sooner.

Oh dear, no it isn't like saying Howe inherited a side that finished 13th.

Howe inherited a side bottom of the league and looking certainties for relegation. Amorim inherited a mid table side who had just won the FA Cup. Amorim's squad is not compatible to what Howe had in any way.

They haven't improved defensively at all, they've been diabolical defensively under Amorim the whole time. There have only brief times they have looked to be improving, ie the draw at Anfield, but even after then they go back to being rubbish.

It seriously looks like Amorim's tactics don't work for any of the players at all, so he basically needs an entire new team. You can assign some blame to Dan Ashworth buying a heap of **** players, but Amorim has been appalling there.

Our improvement didn't kick in only after a big spend - the commitment and style had already improved, and the difference was made by Wood and Burn, who were signings we could have been without the take over. The big signings were Bruno and Trippier, Bruno was introduced later when we were already on a good run of results, and Trippier only played a few games before getting injured.

You're just dragging up any old stuff now to justify an unfair appraisal on Amorim because I pointed out the fact he's took over a struggling club and had no significant signings.

You said Amorim took over a side that finished 8th, so it is like saying Howe took over a side that finished 13th.. It doesn't alter anything about my comment anyway.

The improvements in results wasn't until January. If the takeover didn't happen and we didn't spend 150 million we'd have gone down.

Yesterday Newcastle played a different side and a club focusing all it's hopes on Lyon.

Getting back to the point which is that Amorim has been appalling there, and doesn't necessarily deserve the chance to prove he can turn it around. Graeme Souness for ages said he couldn't only be judged when he'd changed the squad, and when he did it was even worse.

Under Amorim they signed Dorgu, who hardly looks amazing, and he managed to lose their best striker Rashford, who is now scoring for fun at Villa.
